Our youth is average.

DeMattia's disposal is awful.
Macrae was ok
Allan just makes awful mistakes sprinkled with a couple of "oh he might make it" moments" but ultimately meh
Dean awful, delist.
Parker meh but has shown some alright signs at senior level.
Hayes not making it
Howes not making it

We have the shallowest list in all of the AFL. After our best ~25 players, we fall away alarmingly.

It's going to be telling when we eventually lose Pendles, Howe, Sidey, Checkers, Elliott, Hoskin-Elliott, Cox & Crisp. We'll be replacing A graders with B/C graders.
How many of those you listed are currently A graders??

Pendles, Sidebottom, Elliott and Crisp all are still big contributors.

All finish top 10 in the B and F
They likely will all finish well, but we'd have to define A graders. I don't think any but Elliott & Howe are consistently A graders from that list, and Howe's body is failing him.

Not to mention that WHE and Cox are probably D graders.

Parker has shown enough at senior level to say he can make it as a best 22 player. Hayes gets the benefit the doubt for me because of body size and playing position. West has great potential and I think Cochran can make it too. Agree on the overall assessment and the others, though of course we all know why that is, we’ve brought in 25-28yo talent past three seasons instead of going to the draft.

Last Years Draft looks very Promising but other Drafts before then look Average at Best

Yeah whether they're A, B or C graders replacing them all with what we have currently will result in a bottom 4 finish.

They're all such prolific contributors.

There's a reset coming as much as Fly would love to keep the team in finals.

Very disappointing way to end.

A really frustrating last quarter.

The damage done earlier when we had periods of dominance and couldn’t convert. Disappointing our senior depth won’t get on-field continuity, especially Bobby Hill. Makes it even tougher for him to make the case now.

In terms of senior relevance, I thought Cox, Parker, Macrae, Markov, Mitchell, and Allan did enough to keep their magnets in-play. Cochran and Steve next level down.

In terms of VFL listed players, there’s a few I’d like to see re-signed. Glover, Mahoney brothers, Algeri, DeBolfo, and Browne in particular. Riley Mason has fallen off the team sheets but he’d be handy going forward. Hopefully Grey goes around again as a playing coach.

Shallowest in the AFL?

I think Jiath, West and Cochrane show real promise. The club seems to like Ryan. Reef and Harvey Harrison will be back. Mcguane should develop into a good mid when his body gets stronger. Parker has already shown he can play at the highest level under severe pressure. Allan has had some good moments but appears to be the whipping boy on this forum. We will add some good depth with trades. Roan Steele looks like a very capable player and will slot into our midfield very nicely with another preseason under his belt.

I'm not buying the cliff which Cornes believes is only a matter of metres away. He wishes.

Throw in Houston, Perryman, Hill, McCreery, Schultz, Quaynor, Maynard, Moore, Degoey, Nick and Josh Daicos, Darcy Cameron, Long, Allan, Frampton, Crisp, Elliott,McStay....and maybe some I've missed, you have a squad of players who will be playing quality footy for at least another 2 or 3 years for those 30 or 31ish and most are younger than that.

The sky is always falling but rarely does at Collingwood. If we can nab Silvagni and a decent key forward-even that strange cat from the Gold Coast we have targeted according to Gettable, we will be more than competitive.
