Do you mean facetious? Or definitely talking about muscle fibres?

I think though that a lot of people knew were hadn't started rebuilding until this year thanks to simmo.
We have only just bottomed out so we either hit the draft hard and make our own stars, this will take time and definitely what I'd like us to be doing or we trade for stars like Geelong/collingwood does and Hawks are trying to do.
I meant plantar fasciitis, duh

Club is truly content with being anchored to the bottom for the next decade if they think someone like CDT is what the list needs at pick 2
Hopefully its sowing the seed to get another team to want to trade up for one of them

Music to my ears.

**** this trade down bullshit.
CDT isn't music to my ears. He isn't a good ruckman. And he isn't a midfielder. He isn't a key defender. He isn't a utility. He might be a key forward. We don't need a key forward. We need a ruckman who can win/half the contest and midfielders. He isn't a priority for us. He is a project that we can't afford the time trying to develop. If someone has a hard on for him let them come. If they don't, we better not take him with 1 or 2.

I'm just hoping they take sharp and dursma or 2 quality mids whoever they are.

That might be how you think you would see it if you were in their shoes. But you would be in a very small minority. 95% of human beings don't think that way. Look at the unrest at St Kilda. Brisbane might be a well enough run club and a happy enough club to contain it and have it not affect team performance. But i guarantee you there are blokes bitching about it amongst themselves in the change rooms.

St Kilda is nowhere near a flag, so motivation is a bit different there.

Be curious where you got your 95% from.

I follow very little about the draft other than this thread, and all I can say is if we draft this CDT guy then I'll dislike him immediately and enjoy watching him become the new West Coast whipping boy.

I know everyone’s going to say “you’re no fun” blah blah blah, but why is there 6 pages of Chad Warner talk, lol?

He will come home at the end of 2027, he clearly wanted to skip the worst part of the rebuild here and then join when things look a lot more positive, we’ll get him for nothing at the end of 2027.

We’ve got two drafts before Tasmania come in, we have to hit them both hard before we go spunking pick 1 or 2 on players, especially a guy like Chad who needs a complete midfield around him to actually look good, he’s a very exciting player but he’s not who a lot of you make him out to be.
Presumably because Curnow wanting to go to Sydney changes the equation. They need trade capital and don't have it. Let me caveat this by saying I don't think it will happen, has anyone signed a contract and then been traded out the same year. However, as to why he would want to come here, maybe he wants to play alongside Harley and lift the team up, maybe he was considering it ultimately decided to wait but could be convinced. Either way, my two cents, I'd give pick two for Warner and take Dursma or Sharp with pick two. Midfield would look a lot better immediately.

With regards to CDT, I can understand why we'd be into him.

We've drafted a few mids recently in Harley, Hewett, Gross, Davis, Hall, Allan, Hutchinson and to some extent Hough, Chesser, Brockman & McCarthy. We've also got a NGA mid to come in. Bringing in two more makes it hard to develop them all without a 2025-esq midfield of kids.

The only other tall being talked about is Shubert, and we don't need any more forwards.

Meanwhile we have no ruck hope on the horizon.
CDT makes a lot of sense (not that I agree with it. I want Duursma & Sharp).

.. except CDT isn't a ruck, he's a tall mysterious utility - Staker/Brander mk II.

I still want him, but I get the hesitation.

So Swans turn round and ask him to leave? I don't think they are doing that, and if they are, then we look at using Hawks pick and maybe trading seconds and third rounders into GC for another first rounder and use them. Keeping 1 and 2.

We aren't here to do Swans favours if they get themselves in a bind.

Wasn't it well known he only really stayed because Ramrod Cox talked him into it? I think if he could've left with Sydney's blessing he would've happily done so, he just wanted to do the team thing for a bit longer

McGovern has retired, Allen is on his way and we’ve delisted Jamieson. The future of Livingstone is uncertain and Barnett should be at risk of being paid out

That’s a lot of height being lost so we will need to add a KPP or two this offseason so I understand why we are considering Duff-Tytler even if I’d prefer someone else with those two early picks

Duursma and CDT seems a very high risk pairing

This has gotta be the first time in years the clubs announced delistings so soon after the final home & away game.

They are my preferences 🙏😎

We have to trade for some players otherwise the list will be exceedingly young given the experienced players leaving or retired.

Particularly in the midfield.

At the start of this season the midfield was terrible, the ranked top 6 was probably

Yeo - Perma injured
Kelly - turned to B grader at best, no support not helping
Reid - 2nd year player with interrupted pre season
Graham - not really a midfielder of any note
Sheed - Perma injured retired
Hewy - young and talented but coming of an injured plagued season

The club has been vocal about not to keep getting younger and bring in mature players. List spots are making it hard to do that and hit the draft. Unless we ain’t interested in any of our NGAs/Fs or been assured of the extra list spots

I think it is likely we go

1 - Duursma
2 - CDT
Hawks Pick - Farrow

And this board will explode
And rightfully so.

We are in the unique postion of having pick 1 and pick 2, that means we can take a risk, Duursma is that risk, but we must mitigate with a guaranteed 250+ gamer. Sharp or for those that love him Cumming, is that sure thing.

What we can't do is take a flyer on two players and end up with neither of them hitting. CDT can go and grow 2 or 3 inches, or he can go enjoy Richmond.

Brisbane will find a way around paying Allen overs just as they did with Joe Daniher. The AFL will sign it off because it's Brisbane.
