He's done what he feels is best for his future, I respect that.
I can't imagine that the scrutiny that he receives due to his family, be that excessively positive or negative, is all that great.
Go well, Jack.

I like this post.

The whole thing doesnt feel nice though.

I'm torn on this, part of me is sad that he's leaving, especially considering the Silvagni legacy at the club and that it seemed he'd finally found his spot down back. If there's things going on behind the scenes that made Jack want to leave then that's sad too..but all things considered I thought he would have stayed and helped make things right.

On the other hand, the club wanted him to stay and our offer was more than fair for a player of his age, experience and injury history.

Our list is in a place where it needs correcting, and if anyone wants to leave, they can kindly be shown the door..regardless of name.

It's the nature of the game really. Players come, players go. We watched JSOS grow up to become a Carlton player. Now he's going to another club (hopefully St Kilda) for his retirement fund.

People acting like he is Weitering .

I think a lot of these feelings come from the fact that very few legacies / traditions remain in sport. The Silvagni history at Carlton is some of the best in the game. Money comes and goes, heritage and tradition is forever...until you discard it, then you can never get it back.

That's AFL, sometimes things are random.

Jack happens to be UFA this year.

Plays a few good games at CHB then gets injured. Club presents him with a reasonable offer.

Rest of AFL get into a frenzy and Jack's 'value' skyrockets.

Jack stays injured and like a 27 year old dead rock star the legend only increases as the year rolls on, now multiple clubs are bidding.

Jack has a little baby at home and sees that he can make hundred of thousands of extra dollars for his family because all the stars have aligned. Unless Carlton was prepared to pay the inflated AFL price the decision was made for him.

Sometimes shit happens.

Oh I’m sad about this, he’s chasing success ? Is there another reason (no his fathers issue) with up and coming defenders maybe he sees himself in and out of the side…he said on the HS grab earlier today he loves the club, is it Voss, the club isn’t very settled or stable I feel he’s never been truly appreciated…so he’s gonna go for it elsewhere, couldn’t have been an easy decision, anyway I’m gonna wish him well and I hope he ends at the dogs with bam bam. Sad face

Great stuff,
Happy to be finally done with him and his deranged father.
Bring on the compo and let’s bring some class into the club …
We just lost too classy players RB. All they wanted was the club to be successful and on the right path, which obviously it's failed and seems they have no comfort that it will get it right.

That should be the concern that everyone should understand. CFC never lost players they wanted to keep, and successful clubs don't either.
This is a sad day.
