Agree. Carlton is a poor contested marking team around the ground compared to others (think Geelong)

We lost TDK who could do a contested mark .... we need more than just Harry.
Definitely a good tall agile Ruckman who is a good pack mark and can follow up below the knees... accept nothing less

It's giving me "McGovern is on his way out and Kemp is always injured" and "We don't trust HOK to solo ruck a full season if Pitto goes down" vibes more than anything.

Buku could also play more lockdown down back and then we can release Cow in a more attacking role if we think he's ready.

We have kept a coach with a year remaining on his contract he’d be a deadman walking if we rebuild retaining him means delaying that (if it’s required and I think it is). List decisions need to be made with a view to this being Walsh/Weitering/McKay's team.

He's not a backman. Unless the club is going to train him to be a backman over the summer?

My guess is Kemp goes back and Buku replaces Kemp.

If fringe players leave a club, i always assume its because the new club is offering a role, which is fine, but by targeting two rucks it just makes me think that HOK will be used as a forward ruck and we will play another and move out Charlie.

Of course could be way off and maybe getting Khamis might mean Kemp or Lemmey departs or maybe we dont want both rucks but are speaking to both.

I suspect we will be talking to a few rucks with a view to bringing one in, and maybe looking to the draft too. I can see why there may be reservations about HOK as a full time ruck.

But yeah, suspect Buku is to keep our options open post Jack and Mitch, and even Kemp given returns from achilles are not always straightforward.

me too - but I'd; settle for a few that can actually run fast and kick good too. Hard to tackle anyone if you are two meters too late every time.
