The club has always maintained Charlie isn’t going anywhere.

Won’t stop media talking heads like Caroline Wilson from trying to make his position at Carlton untenable by most likely lying through her teeth.
More than one way to lose a player.
Keeping the Charlie we had this year is hardly worth it.
A lot to be mended if he stays and will actually thrive.

He actually doesn’t, he said we were getting Houston. Said Vossy was sacked, he said McKenzie or Mackie would be the head of footy and Walshy had re-signed.

Most of the info he gets proves to be wrong and the more I listen to him and read his tweets he comes off to me as quite full of himself and arrogant.

I stand corrected, I thought his mail was usually good and didn't realise he got everything above wrong.

Can't speak on the bolded part, but I won't post any of his tweets on here going forward.

'If' Charlie's contract was front loaded, which I doubt, then Carlton should NOT trade under any circumstances.
Make a stance baggers - we sign these contracts in good faith and expect the same in return!!!!!

Clearly!
I've been wondering whether Hardwick or Chris Scott or Fagan would have let relationships become so poor with at least Charlie and Jack, that they want to leave.

I see it as a massive failure to not only encourage and inspire our players so they flourish, but to also let things fester to the point where 2 of our best loved and talented men are, or wish to leave.
2 who were known to lift and inspire the team, and gave everything until relstionships soured.

THese 2 are so clearly disillusioned, and all we do on here is pot them and call them sooks and spoilt. We know Charlie would thrive elsewhere. It was up to our coach to make things right. Find rapport and fix the issues.

Do you see this happening under the watch of the 3 coaches I named? Cos I reckon there's no way it would have come to this.
Im fact what we see is that the opposite is true.
Players want to go to their clubs where a healthy atmosphere exists and players can flourish under a dynamic game plan.

This is an epic fail I reckon along with the joyless season we had.
Not sure our club has ever been in a darker place.
Horsey. Tom couldn’t turn that down. Jack squib lingo over 100 or so grand and Charlie . Charlie is the net to all gains if he goes. There’s no I in team.

Few people here are going to be disappointed, may have to support a player they've been trash talking for the last few weeks.
Hmmm, Shitney sitting back not saying much. Yet, knowing full well that Charlie is exactly what they do need. Would get the turnstiles really

clicking and with the elite disposal of Heeney, Gulden and Campbell he would be a monty to kick 90 goals next year for them, if he is not

physically hampered from his knee. Sure, they need to pony up and I reckon their is still a good chance that they will.

I'd say it's the club's words, just not sure why the club would take a stance of not taking any enquires at all.

He shouldn't be viewed as untouchable or irreplaceable.

He is viewed as that though. We’d be fools getting rid of Charlie. Of course Iff he truly wants out. Sell him for profit.

I’ve been told the playing group has effectively split into two camps.

1. The Monogram / Voss Supporters
These are the players who back the club if not Michael Voss specifically and don’t want to go through yet another coaching merry-go-round. Based on the public comments we’ve heard this year, it’s not hard to work out which players are in this group, even if they’ve been linked to moves elsewhere.

2. The anti-Voss camp.
These are the players who wanted the blame for the club’s struggles placed squarely on Voss. They’ve shown a lack of professionalism and accountability, and just as we’ve identified members of the first group, it’s becoming clear who belongs here as well.

Of course, some players sit in the middle. Some are too young or inexperienced to have much influence, while others are at a stage of their careers where it simply doesn’t matter as much. For instance, it’s pretty clear where Weitering and Walsh stand right now—though with Walsh, you get the sense that if things don’t improve next year, he already has an exit strategy in mind. Cripps, meanwhile, may be thinking more about life after football. His legacy as one of Carlton’s greats is secure, premiership or not, and he knows better than anyone that success at that level is beyond his individual control now.

Cool can we have names of who is in which group? :thumbsu: :D

On Hardwick, in 2014-15 (I forget which) Dusty shopped himself around, trying to see what he could get. Hardwick and Richmond refused to budge from their offer for him, trusting in their relationship with him to keep him in house and basically telling him if he wants to leave go for it. Rance was also allowed to leave.

I don't know if Hardwick at least should be promoted as a guru of player relationships. Geelong is a weird little fishbowl - once in, people don't want to leave; you cannot credit Scott for geography - and Fagan has his own issues when it comes to player relationships.

I dunno. Are we close enough to really judge this kind of thing?
