There's a world where next year, St Kilda could have more than $7 million in annual cap space allocated to a group that has one combined All-Australian selection (with none of the others ever getting particularly close): Wanganeen-Milera, De Koning, Silvagni, Aleer, Windhager and Flanders. It's a massive gamble

I somehow don’t mind it. It’s slim odds to be some kind of golden solution but they are giving their fans something different to look at.

I don’t give a shit how free they are, they are chewing up our list spots for **** all return. We are better off keeping a list spot open for a mid season pickup than list some of the plodders we have.

Oliver, I get, terrible contract so just ship him off for nothing. Petracca would actually have to be something like a top 10 2025 + F1 to be worth the heartburn.

Silvagni deal only being end of first round compo stands out to me. 5 years at 800k just isn't that big a deal nowadays.

I think the compo also takes into account his age. That was mentioned today. Maybe on Twomey show.

Nah still ****ing shit. He has played like a 600k plodder for 3 years and has 5 years still.

Hard to really know tbh. Twomey is pretty reasonable most of the time, and it's not too shocking to put together the pieces - Board wanting change, Trac looking unhappy all year, last year's almost trade request, and Trac being probably the only thing of value we can trade out this year, Hawks looking for a 'big fish'.

Personally think Trac is the one a new coach would want to keep, but Oliver is just so difficult to trade in the circumstances, so while it might not be likely, I definitely think it's a chance.

And not sure we'd be trading him for beans in a weak draft.

I like what the Saints are doing, even if they are paying overs salary cap wise they are bringing quality into the club without sacrificing anything on the trade table.

Would help our club to target free agents more frequently and bolster depth at the very least. We lost so much since winning the flag whilst bringing very little back into the club.

Been frustrating to watch as the likes of Geelong, Brisbane and Collingwood keep adding important pieces every year while basically losing very little. The opposite of the list management here.

Of course, and trade period is still a while away anyways, but just pointing out that it's not just the senior coach who decides this stuff - We've renewed 5 contracts since sacking the senior coach.

Just seems weird to complain about the timing of journos talking about trades when trade period doesn't start until after we will appoint a coach anyways.
