I don't see the need to get Jessie Motlop when we could get Latrelle Sumner-Pickett with our current pick 40 who is a much more agile and athletic and seamlessly glides across the ground from one contest to the other.

From the times I've watched Sumner-Pickett he has a bit of an x-factor around goals definitely something to work with and a good size 180cm for a small forward.

Maybe they'll get both? Can't see motlop costing much at all tbh

Motlops age is his biggest positive, for a fourth rounder or even late 3rd if he's available bring him in and see what he can do under Carr.

Latrelle Pickett I'd be trying to grab as well, looks like with some decent coaching has that x-factor.

If Wehr and Brodie are locks, we've still got 4 more spots to fill?

No, one person cant change all, that’s fairy tales.
He’s job is the coaching side and would have some input in the sort of player he wants to draft/ trade in.
Bottom line people from list management make the decisions who we bring in and what we pay.
He’ll have enough to worry about with his own job next year.
Remember he’s a first year AFL coach not Superman.

Wehr, Brodie and if we get Motlop then it becomes 32 spots filled so 4 Senior spots left. Per my calcs, we currently have 7 Cat A rookies which means at least 1 needs to be promoted, so then down to 3 Senior spots left. Could be 5 if Soldo and Lord are gone.

To add to this, I don't think we will have much trouble filling 5 spots. Worst case scenario is 3 draftees + Watkins + McLennan and I imagine there have been discussions around that already to get at least Watkins on the list.

He’s borderline delist material. He averages less goals than mcintee did in a Hinkley kf line.

I’m not very keen on motlop, at best maybe take him on a 1 year dfa pick 100 type deal, even then I would rather pluck a dude from late in the draft and see if we find one like all other clubs routinely do.

i suspect the trick and black art to recruiting/trading is identifying players before they have breakout years.

not saying this is the case with someone like motlop, but imaging if we had gone hard nwm a year earlier. there’s also plenty of cases of it going the other way.

You’re using career stats, I was referring to both players most recent season. My stats were accurate and represented properly.

We can not win finals with clogging list with mediocre player like Motlop . He is not our need . We can pick better players than him in the draft . We should only pursue A grader in trade .

If you're using this season stats on average then Motlop wipes the floor with mcentee. Not even close.

And that's an average using only 6 games that McEntee played and 23 games that Motlop played his average is still better.

Sorry mate, McEntee is crao compared to Jess and he is 3 years older.

Jesse Motlop is better than Narkle, Franky Evans, McEntee, and the latest delisted 3rd year players as well that play same or similar role.

He's still coming to fruition and has a higher ceiling provided he puts in the hard work and right environment and coaching. Definitely worth getting if its as mentioned before.. a 4th round pick at most.
