I’d never even heard of the campaigner until his name showed up here
I wouldn't be giving up more than a R4 (57) for him based on what I've seen from him.
Could probably pick up Blight or Koschitzke as DFA's and they'd do about the same job as Young.
Exactly!!! Type in this fellas name in goggle and you get headlines like 'Three clubs circling Richmond Defender...", who is he, Sam Taylor?
FMD, we really must be hard up if we even remotely consider giving up more than a pick 57.

I reckon Young's a good stopper with a nice kick and intercepts well too.

Wouldn't sell the farm for him but if the cost was pick ~30-35 it would be a list improvement.

Overpaying has always been required to land free agents, especially if you're a club outside the eight. But I think TDK is a top talent who may thrive under Ross. And the ever increasing Salary Cap means longer term implications may not be as serious as people think. They should be able to manage the cap despite what seems like an aggressive strategy. At the end of the day, I agree with Garry Lyon - supporters don't need to concern themselves too much with the contract values, let the experts worry about it. Just be happy with the fact that good players are coming to your footy club.

Fair play to them. They've got cap room and they're spending it. You'd assume they know what they're doing.

However, it would be somewhat counter productive if it unsettles existing players like Wilkie and Marshall enough to demand trades. Particularly when you're only getting in De Koning and Silvagni types. It'd be a bit different if they were legit A graders.

From an outsider it would be wonderful if it made Windhager seek a better deal at say North Melbourne.

Our R3 is pick 39 would be around that mark. Think that's a bit high given he's OOC, but WCE are probably desperate.
Kochitzke was pick 47 on trade in 2023, so to me he's more late 40's or 50's, but I guess there is a demand there.

Shake the tree hard enough and see what falls out. Be nice if a Windhager fell into our lap. They can’t pay everyone

Cap has gone up. Compo won’t be same as previous seasons, especially with increased pressure for a more pure draft.

It’ll be band two, maybe even three.
I agree but my comment was more to the OP suggesting Silvagni was an average player (he is) and therefore compo should be commensurate. My point being compo is based purely on what the Saints are paying him.

Just meant WCE might be desperate and pay with their R2 Hawks pick in the 30's with their lack of depth.
For the right price, he looks alright to me.

Can provide run and carry, plus bite off hard kicks into the corridor:

Can roost them from 55 out:

Can be trusted to play on gorillas:

Tsatas & Lever ? 🤔

Like buying an $80 mill powerball ticket for tonight and end up waking up tomorrow morning winning div.7 - $10.80 😕
Yeah that's right Hoj, but always remember that $10.80, could be mighty important one day.;)

The price is the key point. OOC, he's unlikely to be best 23 with Miller, Balta, Gray, Trainor and Gibcus other options.
