I dont see why GC would want Charlie when they already have multiple forward options,
It would be if they think he's the difference for going for a flag now while their other options (including Walter) aren't quite ready.

I think i just see two players like Wilmot and Bailey for Brisbane for example a better outcome for us, we then go and find a forward like Voss, Riccardi, Gruzewski types who would be cheap.
If the right combination is available I'm sure we'd be looking at it.

Don’t think Walter would be expensive.

Expensive in a few ways. Pick 2 what, two years ago, means his worth in a trade is high, GC would value him as a top 5 pick in any trade, i think we would be better served getting quality in other areas.

Expensive also in $$$, he’s contracted at GC, is from GC, so if they force him out, he will leveridge his position to get a big contract.

For sure, i would then assume that they would get rid of someone like King, Walter, Reid or one of them would want to leave, id be sceptical hat if Walter becomes available because GC want Charlie, it doesnt fill me with confidence in how GC see Walter’s future prospects.

Reading possibility of trading Charlie Curnow to GC perhaps Jed Walters, Sam Flanders and a FF 2nd rounder could possibly suffice for the madness.
All necessary due diligence would have to be done, especially type of character and disposition of the candidates.
Given Gulden and Butters are unlikely, This was my third preference and number 1 GC option. That duo plus a FF to help with Cody.

Yeah, kinda wonder if he was lamenting it purely from a football standpoint, but treating that very separately to the club culture aspect
Yeah

And maybe just driving home the point how valuable his footballing is, but you aren’t welcome with that attitude and character

What makes you think that? I think it will be 2x1st rounders and a player (2nd-3rd round equivalent), if the picks are ok then we use one to target another quality player.

I dont think players make it public they want out, unless they think it can get done. I’d assume Charlie in his chat with Cox, spoke of what he and his management think will need to get it done.

GC on a Quick Look could trade pick 6, Flanders (pick 10) and Moyle or something else and still be ok to take their academy kids, pick 15, a F1 and Flanders as the picks would be lower.

Sydneys 2 academy kids are 24th and 25th in the latest rankings which means they could offer 9, F1 and Florent, or 9, Hayward and Florent or something similar.

Ther could be pick upgrades or other names that come up or even others we want included even if we needed to add more.

I dont see why GC would want Charlie when they already have multiple forward options, if King was included id be open nut if its Walter, it would be because they think he wont cut it.
If Carlton did any of those trades there’s a mob with flaming torches and pitchforks out the front of Princes Park and those responsible would be lucky to get out away with their lives let alone their jobs.

Be serious.
We’re not trading Charlie (with 4 years to go on his contract) without it looking like a win.

Apologies for the late night post … been out for a very interesting dinner.
1. Wright is a weapon but he’s not perfect. Thinks little of the soft touch culture which has infected the club in recent years.
2. Has given players and coaches a clear direction. We are with you if you are with us.
3. Curnow is on the block. As are Motlop and McGovern. Has set Curnow management on fire and are filthy. Told them to stump up or FO.
4. Made a hard call on Doc and JSOS. Hasn’t made many happy but …
5. Expect further board change … They were clear on the players being the problem.

Sorry confused by 5 expected further board change. Do you mean “broad” change or change on the board

And on 4. I interpret stump up or FO is to mean go find an amazing deal or FO manager Charlie is staying at Carlton?

5. Change on the board. Not immediately.
4. Correct.

I am totally aligned with Wright sticking it to Curnow's management. He is contracted, he has the problem to satisfy us. If Curnow does not want to play next year, & step out that is on him but that is preferable in my mind than a couple of late 1st rounders because the Carlton Football Club needs to send the football world a message
