Meh, no one would even discuss JSOS leaving but for the family name...

We picked up an aging Haynes who is a way better player (at his late career stage) than Jack will ever be frankly.

I very much respect your opinion, and I do like what Haynes brings, but they are very different defenders. Haynes is a sweeper who plays a lot upfield, but Jack was a farily solid defender, who knew when to go and when to stay back. I think Gov and Haynes are more alike than JSOS. This is what makes JSOS's loss more severe I think. Weiters finally had some freedom to get out of the arc without worrying about who was back there covering the square.

Trading Martin pissed a few senior players off as they felt he was a critical cog in the forward line due to his running patterns and intensity to hold ball in.

He was definitely our smartest forward, but the problem is that Martin's body was just too unreliable in a team that relied on him hitting the mark. Geelong can afford him to be a Sub that comes on and has an impact because of their depth.

We couldn't keep relying on guys who only played half the games. Yes, we are reminded how much class he has watching him at the Cats, but it's pure luck that he is on the ground. Maybe they are managing him better, but he still wouldn't be there when we need him if he stayed.
