I mean I don't know them from a bar of salt but Zack appears to be the consummate professional... Jake not so much.Stringer was his best mate at the cub. The two are like chalk and cheese.

He's 30 years old next month and a career loser. He's a good player, but he's a soon to be 6 time B&F winner because he plays for Essendon. Bit like Dayne Zorko for mine. Zorko is still great at 36 and has been a big part of their extended run at the top but he's not winning 4 B&Fs in a row in the current side. If his individual accolades lined up with Brisbane's run of making multiple prelims and GFs rather than finishing bottom 4 he would be in different conversations. Someone will win our B&F this year and whoever it is was absolutely nowhere near the AA side while other teams had multiple reps.
Dons would want a king's ransom to let him go. But (a) he's not worth it, and (b) the only teams who have it to offer shouldn't. A first round pick from a contender (or two) doesn't really do a lot for Essendon, and if you are already in the mix why would you offer more?
Sounds like conversations have been had.
Sounds like conversations have been had.
The hawks have Carlton’s first, so that plus a player like McKenzie would be a start100% they have been had; that's not the issue.
As I have said don't begrudge him at all for wanting to go get success - he likely won't see it in his time with us, the issue is if he does request a trade, how does Hawthorn stump up the currency it will take to get him.
Theres no way we accept your 2025 First and your 2026 Future First so it will be interesting to see how it plays out if he does ask for a trade...........on second thoughts its Essendon so they may actually be that stupid.
And hind lolThis is pretty wild to me. Zack seems like a decent guy. Stringer not so much.
I’m an Essendon supporter and I hope he goes. Sick of this crap coming out every year from Zac. He is meant to be our leader but just complains about the club direction which he is meant to to be part of. Move on Zac. Great leaders stay the course, didn’t hear Zorko complain when Brissy were crap, or swallow at the suns. They put their head down and lead.Ahhh, mah bad mate, sorry for misreading.
I will edit all my posts
This is actually a great point. I made this same point in our board.I’m an Essendon supporter and I hope he goes. Sick of this crap coming out every year from Zac. That sounds excessive to us, for a 30 year old.100% they have been had; that's not the issue.

I’d love Merrett next year. Much more than Petracca as Merrett I feel is still playing at a AA level which Trac I don’t think reaches those heights not too mention his kicking is out of whack. That being said hawks won’t be trading two firsts for a 30 year old that’s just solidly ridiculous. A top 10 pick is already a fair bit and what I’d imagine the hawks will offer. McKenzie will stay considering we’re two mids short and don’t have great depth there beyond CMAC.

That’s the problem, it’s always been more about Zac than the club. Was the same when they kicked him out of the leadership group a few years ago and it seems little has changed.Mate, he's been busting his ass for 12 years and Dons won't play finals for at least another 3 years. Most likely 4-5 being realistic
He hung in there for a long time. Can't blame him wanting out to a contender if true at 30
Main issue for Bombers is trying to capitalise in a shite draft
But a top 10 pick plus a good kid could be huge for your rebuild
This the issue i have Essendon fans want to off load all these players in a crap draftMain issue for Bombers is trying to capitalise in a shite draft
Knowing our stupid club they will get fleeced by Hawks.100% they have been had; that's not the issue.

Same with GeelongCollingwood dont really have the assets to trade for Merritt.
If it aint, the noise has been loud the past week or two and we certainly havnt heard anything from Zac himselfThe question is, is this all just noise to drum up clicks for the journos, or is there actual substance to it?
It’s all good and well to throw darts like this as it is essentially adding mayo to a previous story, but is it real? It could be, and he could come out and emphatically deny it, but if it’s not real, does he really need to do that every time it happens, just to satisfy the public?
He can’t win either way so what does that mean, just cop it sweet regardless if there is any truth to it?
We want Cam McKenzie. Have a first and likely more with Marshall and Windhager dangling about.100% they have been had; that's not the issue.

Or Hawks offer pick 8 and Cam McKenzie for MerretWe want Cam McKenzie. Have a first and likely more with Marshall and Windhager dangling about.
We could easily be the third party that helps this trade happen as we have the draft currency.
