If Charlie has fully checked out, Walter and 6 sounds interesting.Walter and 6, don’t let the door hit you on the way out Charles. Also open to a Hayward, Campbell and Sydney’s first pick scenario. Use their first pick to on trade elsewhere for a runner who is best 22 and we turn Charlie into 3 pieces we desperately need. Our supporters won’t like this trade as the feeling will be that we have to win it on paper, but what any list manager will tell you is that the trade in it’s totality is what matters the most not the optics of winning or losing on paper. Hayward is an upgrade on all of our forwards minus Harry and Charlie, Campbell would arguably be the best kick at our club on day one and Sydney’s first pick would on traded to land us a player who fits a list need around run and carry.
If we’re not going to compete until Butters is 30 that would make Charlie 34 and likely retired. Think your logic works against you a bit

But…which players can we turn the 6 and TDK compo into? That’s the question for me.
What about senior players ready to contribute from round 1?6 + 10 might get us pick 2 from WCE...
Then we end up with either Duursma or Lindsay + Walter for Charlie... not a bad net result at all. And we'll still have the Jack compo to pay for a Dean bid...
It's classic Navy Andrew timeWhy do we get one or two of these a year.

Merrett or Butters? We will have cap space.
Only in a world where the only outcomes are keep Charlie or get butters. If we’re not going to compete until Butters is 30 that would make Charlie 34 and likely retired. Think your logic works against you a bit
Was okay against the hawks. Fell off a cliff otherwise this year. The saints are really just throwing money at anyone

Will be interesting to see who falls outWas okay against the hawks. Fell off a cliff otherwise this year. The saints are really just throwing money at anyone![]()
Windhager at least. Wilkie is a “keep an eye on”Will be interesting to see who falls out
Agreed. If Charlie goes and we don’t bring in someone of equal impact, and go for kids, then that’s a clear signal to the older group that you won’t be playing in a premiership with us.
Woudl expect us to let a few more go in the following year
Isn’t Jack Silvagni the Nepo Baby now..?AFL would cream their pants if Charlie went to the nepo babies
WCE have Waterman, Shanahan & others that they can put their faith in up forward. What type of contract and salary do you think we would offer Walter’s if he agreed to come? I would think he’s been offered some lengthy ones at top dollar by other clubs like West Coast
Thats my opinion aswell. We need to keep improving each year, its been 30 years, we can't be still hoovering around the bottom half of the ladder again next year after possibly trading out Charlie,TDK gone,JSos walking and whoever else should go this year. As a paid up member for decades,I for one have just about had enough of where the club is at,its really unacceptable. If Charlie goes and we don’t bring in someone of equal impact, and go for kids, then that’s a clear signal to the older group that you won’t be playing in a premiership with us.

Something about concussion here that you’d want to tread very lightly on a trade with TMcCJust going to add a name that I’m surprised hasn’t been discussed when it comes to Sydney and Charlie trade. Get McCartin and a future 1st for Charlie and 35? We’d have the best key defensive duo in the league. Add Newman, Saad, Cowan, Hollands, Wilson, Carroll and a new defensive line coach and we could become a vaunted defensive team. Use our draft picks for players that run with and without the ball to add around the ground and we could become a scary proposition off the back of our defense alone. Just an idea.
Prefer players have a dip every week, which I think is where we’re heading. Maybe even with good skills, which makes the game easier to play and watch!Thats my opinion aswell. We need to bring in players, staff that will bring success in the near future.
Has he had that many knocks?Something about concussion here that you’d want to tread very lightly on a trade with TC.
Yep, on the precipice.Has he had that many knocks?
