Seems there's several clubs sniffing around Sam who is yet put pen to paper at the Hawks, sure to be plenty of interest in this young midfielder/Forward the longer he goes unsigned. Saw a lot of Sam locally for the GWV Rebels where he shone as both a mid and a forward with his exceptional athletic profile and his two way running, way too talented to not be a best 22 AFL player at any AFL club.

Hope he stays. Think there's a spot with him and I'd be very surprised if he moved unless the offer was one he/we couldn't refuse.

I'd like to think he'd stick by the club who saw him through a horrific injury. Don't think he's fully shaken it off either. Still can't string together consistent games due to soreness.

We'll start to see the best of him next year IMO.

Returned to play 3 senior games post broken leg and then missed due soreness in his leg.
Played a few games at Box Hill and selected for the hawks first final after limited preparation which shows how much he is rated internally.
Has just been offered a fresh 2 year deal which he is expected to sign

We’ll take Ginbey and pick 1…. Isn’t that how trades work for WCE supporters?
No mate.

Every Vic club supporter suggests Harley for whatever spud we've shown minor interest in.

If Hawks are targeting a player, it's Weddle plus at least 1 first, no matter who it is.

That's how it works around these parts.

Had a really good game against GWS in the forward line (I think his best position is as a follower/wing).

Only single digit touches but every touch he had turned to gold and cracked in hard with some big tackles. Kicked a clutch goal too.

Hoping he sticks with the club.

What are his prospects of breaking into your side like with the quality of players you already have between the arcs?

It would be challenging but credit to Butler is he has shown continual improvement year on year, even after a broken leg.

It's all about a strong squad these days rather than a best 22. It would depend on if Mitchell can sell Butler the vision that he is going to have a genuine chance at cracking the 22 in a team contending for September glory as opposed to be being a nailed on starter for a lower ranked side.

Butler has really leap frogged a lot of his fellow teammates to be that 23rd man this year. Didn't think it would happen given how horrific his injury was.
