Stains trying way too hard to say SOS was not involved in recruiting Jack. People saying they have too many defenders and not interested in Dean.

I find their explanation amusing.

SOS may have sat out of negotiations but the two figures that they're saying held the negotiations are his godfather and a family friend of over 30 years.

IMO. The below will be elsewhere next year or at Carlton, because no one wants them.

Curnow - GONE - I’d rather move on a (leadership group 🤷‍♂️) player that wants out and has sooky tendencies on field when things aren’t going his way.

Motlop - GONE - with a reported deal on the table. Obviously it’s lowballed to avoid DFA, either the club are looking to trade him or he’s looking for a better deal.

McGovern - GONE - Khamis comes in, Voss saying he wants him to stay, to try and pump up his value. Reports multiple clubs have inquired, hopefully a mini bidding war.

Hollands - GONE - Club forced, enough said 😭

Acres - GONE - Think he’ll be part of the Chesser deal.

Comfortable with all of that.

Acres more valuable for WC who need some senior bodies to help navigate the next part of their rebuild, Chesser has the attributes we need, will come at a bit of a discount and a little bit of injury risk but has plenty of time on his side.

Hollands had his chance(s), if the club are pulling the pin it's because they believe he's not prepared to hold up his end of whatever deal was made, and/or he represents too much of a destabilising influence on other players. Was a cheap pick up with known risks, sometimes those risks bear out.

McGovern definitely a player with something to offer someone, and while I think his skill set is one we'll miss I'm happy to look at a younger like-for-like such as Khamis. Also opens up a best 22 spot for Harry Dean to come in and play as the third tall.

Motlop is a perpetual tease. May still come good, and would suck to see him explode in a couple of years' time at another club. But on current evidence, that explosion is a hope rather than a prediction. Offer him a low contract, if someone comes knocking for him happy to discuss what a trade might look like - presumably they need to beat our 2 year contract offer, so their trade offer will then need to be commensurate with a 3-year or 2-year-at-more-money contract for Motlop, which I would assume means something in the vicinity of a late second in this draft, or maybe an early third next year.

Curnow is such an interesting subject at the moment. I'm fully on board with trading him bases on his engagement levels and the revised position of our list - it will all come down to how much value we can get back and what we can do with it. Plenty of clubs succeed with one elite key forward plus support, so Harry and others can get the job done if we can fix up our transition and delivery.

A highly rated younger KF plus pick 6 for a flakey 29yo ?

Take the deal!!
This has become insane. He’s not flakey…. He had 1 bad year when the whole team did…. Cool. He might’ve been a leading cause or a follower. Either way the whole team did….

The three years before 2025 he was by far the best forward in the comp and one of the best players overall.

And - again - he lays more tackles and gets involved more than Jeremy Cameron. But we prefer grass is always greener somewhere else…. Yeesh. Yet this is how myths become accepted as fact…. I watched Charlie as one of the lone hard workers against Sydney live at the scg this year. He was fighting and winning and nobody could kick it to the space he constantly created. He fought and chased the shit after the poor kicks too

It’s like fans have collectively channeled all the angst and agitation at Voss and the club during the year at just curnow and Silvagni.

**** him off if he’s not committed to. Carlton under wright and Voss but to pretend he’s not freakish and can be defined as flakey first and foremost is nonsense. He will score 300+ more goals in his career. Easily.

Flaky is being something that’s committed to the club for a long term contract and at the first sign of being asked to be accountable cracks the sads and practically gives up.

That’s pretty flaky to me

I'd called it spoiled and entitled, but flakey also works.

Also shady for milking most of the $$$ out of the contract early and then wanting to reset elsewhere.

SOS trying to get Deanv too?

Yeah, guy really wants to be the only club legend that's permanently told to **** off forever at this point.

Sadly, it turns out SOS is actually more accurate in Morse Code . . .

and doesn’t really mean son of Serge.

. . . _ _ _ . . .

If Curnow is gone. Hope its for another superstar and a stack of picks.

Otherwise we will be in the middle of nowhere for years to come. If we are relying on McKay upfront as the tall.

How do you know that's what's happened? That's exactly what I'm saying. Too many have subscribed to this to channel their angst over a bad season into Charlie. What if That's not what's happened...

Who says he's given up...? Who says if he's not traded he won't come and win Coleman 3?

What nonsense.

His knee surgeries scare me though.

He's up to like - what - 6 surgeries? Then the odd ankle one? I can't imagine he will be leaping over blokes much longer.

Spot on. The comments about Charlie have become ridiculous. If we were to trade him and he dominates elsewhere, the same people will be complaining that we let him go.

We got Davies (Port) we also may be getting Hinkley (Port).

Not having a go...asking at what point is there a conflict of interest? What makes this boys club culture not the same thing?

I have no quandary with it; but isn't accusing any football family of it not somewhat hypocritical?

Regarding latest Bluemour re: Harry Dean. I thought he has already committed to us. Is this not official and SOS is trying to poach him? I understand why he would bid on him as clearly his hate runs deep, but if hes already agreed to come to us as F/S in writing or whatever is done to confirm it surely it would be hard for him to back out of that or change his mind?

come play with carlton royalty - stocker, dow, carroll, tdk, silvagni

I agree. The bloke has averaged over 58 goals per season the past 4 years. The nonsense about him having 2 good seasons is absolute rubbish. Anyone who knows Charlie will tell you he's not motivated by money. If fact, he took quite a lot less than McKay demanded with his last contract.
Charlie is a simple person. He doesn't feel comfortable with the spotlight of a big Melbourne club. Hence why he is "open" to moving to the northern states or Geelong.

He hasn't given up. If the club can't get a good deal for him, I have no doubt he'll be our leading goal kicker again next season. The bloke is a freak. He's shorter than Patrick Cripps yet he has won 2 Coleman medals and despite having zero pre-season and being double teamed most games, he was still top 20 in the AFL for marks inside 50 and contested marks this year.

If he goes, hopefully we get a great deal. If he doesn't, I'll still go to games cheering him on. The bloke is a gun.

I don’t care about either of them.

I think his opinions are perpetually negative… and hers are happy clapper.

I’m somewhere in the middle.

I don’t care about either of them - but it particularly annoys me that SEN (in particular) and 3AW put Snapper to air and that his opinions become received “Carlton wisdom” and as supporters and members we are associated with that moron.

Yep great post. Echo the above. And for those going on about his knees, the way he reads the ball and bodies, he will dominate inside 50 into his 30s even if he loses that spring.

In saying that, if the offer of walter and flanders / pick presents itself then we should consider it.

Not sure why anyone is getting excited about the club allegedly being linked with Butters. There is absolutely no chance of it happening. No assests to satisfy Port. And just because he is apparently close with Hinkley? A load of crap.
We will have two first round picks as well as Motlop. There are also other players to trade as well, particularly if we trade Curnow. Fair chance they go for that over next season's free agency compensation.

Just putting himself in the front of the queue behind us.

Acres would quite literally have to be pushed to go to West Coast. He isn’t actively looking for a new club — he’s settled in Melbourne with a young family and is getting married here next year etc.
