Ridley has met with the Lions and Watson is seriously concerned.

Essendon great Tim Watson concerned about Brad Scott’s ability to foster relationships with senior Bombers

Jordan Ridley has become the second key Don to meet with a rival club this week, with the defender meeting the Lions. It comes as Brad Scott’s relationships with his players comes under fire.

Uh oh, the old timers feel the need to get involved. They need to get a metal detector down there before Sheedy gets out his ole faithful coach shiv.

A couple more weeks and its that time of year when the bombres shine,
they're about to win trade week..

My favourite news story from earlier in the year...
Had his contract extended by one season, taking him through the end of the 2027 AFL season. The extension, announced in March 2025, was a statement of stability and unity from the club to demonstrate confidence in Scott's leadership and the team's current trajectory

I actually thought Brad did okay as well.

Could see he was absolutely seething at Merrett and that relationship is obviously strained, but he was reasonably measured.

I thought Scott did ok.

Putting aside your feelings re the Dons there is no way that Essendon should be bullied into letting him go - let alone be forced just to deal with Hawthorn alone. He knowingly signed a contract with Essendon who have then gone over and above to sweeten the financial terms in the seasons since. He is not a free agent but is acting like he is.

If he desperately wants out Essendon should be free to do a deal with any of the remaining 17 clubs. Only way they will get fair value. Otherwise clubs at the bottom will continue to be feasted upon by the currently successful teams.

I see parallels with the JHF situation if Merrett and Hawthorn dig in. No matter how much * say they will enforce his contract (which was an option for us with JHF), they would be worse off if they don't do the trade and get some value (like we were forced to do).

Drive the nail into this mob as hard as we can.

First rounder next year + Duursma for Caddy.

Come and play with your best mate, Nate.
He already plays with Kakko.

I always Despised the Hawks but after recent events I think I’m developing a soft spot for them.
