If the situation was reversed + a male photographer took photos of a female player, in the same situation, I reckon there’d be protests.

In regards to yesterday's photographer - it's not the first time Smith has had words with her or other female journalists at media invited training sessions this year




We know that the GFC media team reached out to her during the training session, while Hocking reached out with a formal apology later in the day in regards to yesterday

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bit of talk with Bailey behind closed doors about his repeated little incidents with female journalists at these training sessions, and a reminder that they've been invited to do their job just as he is doing his job during training

Alison is a Geelong local, she's been with the Geelong Addy for 25 years, covering the football amongst other local activities and no doubt she'll be invited to the next open training session

If Bailey is going to get frustrated by journalists & photographers (seems especially female ones), then he may need to decide if he should be out on the field during that session or working inside

I just don't believe in the whole superstitious historical voodoo magic. These are two evenly matched teams in their own right. Barely anything has separated them since about round 7 last last year.

Winning culture? Sure. But it's also their first prelim since 2015.

Hawthorn lost 4 finals in a row 2016-2018 and that similarly meant nothing for their finals the past 2 years. Shaun Mannnagh isn't going to be in cold sweats over the 2013 prelim.

Agree that it's an even bigger final for us supporters now, but what happened in 2014, 2013, 2008, 2001 or 1989 will have no relevance on the players or coaches. Much like 2011 or 2016 won't.

Blicavs has a chance to go 2-2 against Gunston in finals. You better believe he's been waiting for his revenge.

We need to get "Norm" Smith to give the Cats players a pre-game rev up. He was our hero in the last Geelong/Hawthorn final, after all.

'knock-out final' is a bit selective. We beat them in finals games in 2011 and 2016. Hawthorn didn't even qualify for finals between 2019 and 2023.

Take a look at yourselves.

With some of the you, despondency has set in and increasing (since the Hawks beat GWS and then the Crows). You are hiding it by "rationalising" how the Hawks (heaven forbid) "deserve" to win. Keep you "coping" to yourselves. Rather than subject the rest here to it, maybe shut the laptop and go for a walk/run. It is getting to you.

The Hawks are not in our Players' or our MC's heads. They are in some of your heads. Some Hawks fans go about their usual Kayfabe and some of you are turning queasy. Most Hawk fans are shitting bricks.

No, forcing behinds in pressure situations or when a side could not see a clear path out of defence was common-place. The rule was changed because Patrick Bowden in a close game chose to walk the ball back over the behind line without kicking it in, which he did on several occasions to soak up time.

I'm ultimately happy with this outcome. Before the final 8 were set, the 3 teams that really worried me were dogs, lions and giants.

IF you told me a month a go we'd have Hawks in a prelim. 100% happy.
