I’m seeing different numbers here, but can a Hawthorn fan talking down Merrett’s value please name the 10+ midfielders that you’d take before you take Merrett? For a couple of seasons? I really can’t see how people are ignoring the fact that he’s one of the best midfielders in the league, a consummate professional and on-field role model, leader, etc. The only people going past him are your Bonts, Daicos’, etc. He’s immediately your best player

Merrett may enjoy being just one of the mids rather than being THE mid over and over and over.

I seriously doubt its going to happen, as noted previously, The President sent out a letter to all Bomber members
Noting Zac is NOT getting traded, i can’t see how they could back flip on that!

If they did he would receive vote of no confidence and would have to remove himself.

If we were in a similar situation and lets say for this exercise Sicily had dinner with Cris Scott and was disgruntled at hawthorn, then Gowers sent me a letter stating Sicily wont be traded, then he gets traded - all trust would be lost and we as members would demand he is removed as he has blatantly lied to us.

This is a laughable list. Half of those blokes have had one good season in their career. Merrett is down on form (coincides with Essendon capitulating) but is still one of the best players in the league.
