I think Powell would be at the peak of his value, if he wanted to go, this year would be the best year in terms of contract he could demand and what we would get for him.
Not even entering his peak years as a midfielder? Player that can kick on both sides of the body, what do we get back?

We've missed a trick by not entering that race.

Has alleged attitude problems but so does Cooper Harvey, with about half the talent. Rosas is a crumber and we so ****ing badly need one of those
thought we were interested in him when he was looking for a trade, was it last year or year before

His name was bandied about but it was unclear whether that was due to club interest or interest originating from here

Powell has shown top end talent - a bit inconsistent but he can play.
Trading him for a player similar to what we already have isn’t a win in my book
You are too kind. Tom isn't that good and has lots of limitations to his game. He is a C grade midfielder with a B grade ceiling who has shown no ability to play elsewhere. By the end of the season he had been pushed out of his spot by younger players, and there are others likely to overtake him soon too. Fine to keep him as back up, but if we can improve our team by offloading him, it is an easy choice.

I wouldn't trade Powell. We've grown him with the group over 5 years, he's rated by the coaches and will hit his peak years soon.

We need more guys in his age bracket not less. Our stacked midfield still features no AA players or guys winning their matchups week in, week out. ie we don't have a surplus until there's a pool of 5-6 guys dominating that part of the ground most weeks.
I would - in a heartbeat. I’ve seen enough of him in, what, four or five seasons to know that he’s never going to be elite. We will get something half-decent for him now. In 12 months’ time, when it’s clear to everyone he’s a B Grader and will remain a B-Grader, that deal will become a third-rounder.

Was it ever confirmed that we spoke to, or offered a contract to Mihocek?

I swear it was mentioned somewhere last week
Sam Edmund mentioned it last week and mentioned it again today on Trade 🔔.

I wouldn't trade Powell for Adelaide's first.

It will get pushed back too far.
Agree.

Really needs to be 2026 R1 (~25) + 2027 R1 (~25) from the Crows or they can FRO, in the nicest possible terms Mutineer. We'll give 3rd's back in both years if we have to grease their wheels to get it over the line. 20 + 20 wouldn't get you near pick 4, so why does it get you a player picked (at 4?) with experience, who can kick off both feet (well) and rack up stats allll whilst being played out of position due to team needs (to play younger kids in his position who were selected higher than he), effectively.

Honestly I hate feeling like this, but to some of you; please let me know if you're thinking about selling your property!

Ask for 2026 R1 + 2027 R1
Accept 2026 R1 + 2027 R2

Anything less and we're better off keeping him
