yes, understood...Read is used as their second ruck so they needed him unless they play Moyle or pinch hit with someone else.

from the Tassie Devils to the Tassie Saints - the ultiumate rebrandingIf this doesn't work out for them, which I don't think it will, St.Kilda is going to be royally screwed,
I've been saying for 20 years, they should have rebranded as the Southern Saints and gone; it would have been the best thing for them.from the Tassie Devils to the Tassie Saints - the ultiumate rebranding

He's far from the finished product but as he matures, his consistency and impact on games will grow. Going to be a star, young Humphrey.Wondering if all the people mentioning Humphrys actually watched the game last week?
I'm sure it gets a mention if he's on the table for negotiationWondering if all the people mentioning Humphrys actually watched the game last week?
Melb probably pay 300k of his salary too.I think May might be necessary.
Take his character out of it, we need another 2nd KPD with losing JSOS and HOF out next year.
Lewis Young/Haynes can't be our 2nd best defender next year, and Harry Dean won't be ready.
So? like seriously age is irrelevantMay, Newman and Haynes in the same back-line? Would be the oldest defence since the Walls of Jericho.
Watch next yr when a geelong or Collingwood take him and he kills itI am a winner on May.
I reckon Weitering would be too!

No way Geelong take May. They have SDK, O’Sullivan, Jack Henry and Blicavs(if he’s not needed elsewhere)who are all equal to or better than May at 34.Watch next yr when a geelong or Collingwood take him and he kills it
And all the clueless people on here say he's to old or bad for culture, meanwhile the geelongs and Collingwoods keep being successful even with players like that are on there lists
Why would Tassie want anything to do with St Kilda... when you talk 'horrible histories', it means something different for SK....I've been saying for 20 years, they should have rebranded as the Southern Saints and gone; it would have been the best thing for them.

May is exactly what our team needs. Brutal strength and mongrel. David Rhys Jones style.

I’m old enough to remember the days when Carlton was feared and revered.
May is the kind of player that we would recruit in the 80s and 90s that would take someone out and we would cheer.
It’s been 3 decades since those days.
TA
It's an example mate my point is those teams take risksNo way Geelong take May. They have SDK, O’Sullivan, Jack Henry and Blicavs(if he’s not needed elsewhere)who are all equal to or better than May at 34.
OR you're actually Steven May........We get it Tommy.
You are a fan of May!
Voss needs a strong move into the 8, and a few finals, otherwise....If I would be Voss I'd be in an opposite camp to this thinking. I'd rather have expectations low on our outcome for 2025, because if we don't have Curnow, TDK, Jack and an enourmous amount of youth the bar on what internally and externally the expectations for us will be much lower.
If the club acquiesces to asks from the coaches to bring in ready made experience then they're telegraphing we're in or close to the window, so any outcome that relates to us missing out on and just making the 8 may not cut any form of extension being offered.
I'm in the camp that next season should be Voss' last, for him to even get offered an extension I want to see what he can accomplish with youth, new coaches and change in the air all round. Sure recruit a few mid 20 year olds to fill the breach, players who can be with us 5+ years, but Melbourne even with the talent they still have in their list and a new coach (who might get some immediate success) don't even want a bar of him.
It's funny how you say it like there not successful doing itWatch May toddle of to Oldiewood.
Fit right in.

and the Northern Kangaroos... at GCI've been saying for 20 years, they should have rebranded as the Southern Saints and gone; it would have been the best thing for them.

We get it Tommy.

Yeah, they may as well.I reckon Collingwood look at May as well
Carlton have been doing that for 50 years .. The Garry Crane, Chris Yarran, Fisher types .. now Cerra .. JaggaI tell you what I am not a fan of. The continuous blooding of young players that are light and don't turn into beasts. The only players recruited over the past 10 years that are ELITE in every way are Cripps and Weitering. Outside of that we have not only recruited poorly but keep going for slight, light players that get injured every 5 minutes because their bodies aren't up to the battle. We need grunt. Then the Walsh like players don't have top get killed in the contested ball every week.
TA
That should've happened as well as the Western Bulldogs in Sydney , instead of GWS, those clubs and the AFL would've been in a stronger position now.and the Northern Kangaroos... at GC
Possibly bumping the JSOS compo up to a band 1 compo. There was no precedent for the 10 or 11 yr Buddy deal till it was done...
Charlie is in that stratosphere - the AFL would love him at either the Swans or the Gold Coast.
A marketing gold mine. And that's all they give a f... about really.
They'll (the AFL) will be nudging a deal along in the background.
I expect a deal to be done and Carlton to be rewarded very handsomely.
