This... players have too much power these days. He signed a long term contract, the club supported him through injuries etc. and now wants to leave for greener pastures.
If the club bends over now, who will be the next player to do the same thing?
Fix the easy out culture, get a fair(equal) return from whoever wants him, make him honour his contract (and become the player we hoped he would be) or play out the rest of his career in the VFL.

I followed Walter's journey pretty closely.
He oozes potential/talent....clearly an elite athlete...
BUT in what world did GC just play Ethan Read ahead of him?
Is there something wrong with Walter? Is he a one trick pony (in the role that King currently plays)? Attitude issues?
I have no idea but he is a risk...a long way from a proven commodity so whatever else comes with him must be very significant?
So, good players and picks (picks that meet out F/S and NGA needs)
Players - someone else who's good or very good + a project player:
My 'wants' - one of Humphreys, Collins, Miller, King (and they keep Walter), Ballard and (there's some noise about) Caleb Lewis? Flanders as steak knives...
That bypasses their likely untouchables - Rowell, Anderson....
Or do we just say we want Rowell now + picks?
Maybe he had a bag on the pies to win because he knew what was coming … tdk checked out round 5 but was great before that .. saints are getting a starMaybe he just checked out like Charlie and TDK did.![]()
Still in his elbow is it?One positive if we did get May is that Frankie would be able to get his tooth back.
If he wasn't cooked I'd agree. But it's 2026 next year, not 2021-2023.
100% spot on. Bring in May and keep Charlie, we are realistically back in finals.
I'd be happy with 2 kids with a potentially long career from GWS for a disgruntled Charlie.
Gruzewski and Gothard would be doable, and they ARE from Sydney for ffs.
May is a dead set loser. I wouldn't want him near my club.100% spot on. Bring in May and keep Charlie, we are realistically back in finals.
I say it's up to Frank to make the call...My reason for wanting May is that it would free up and take the pressure off of Weiters. It would also allow Hayes to stay as the third option instead of the second option which would be disastrous.
Harry Dean will be in his first year so we can’t expect too much from him and with HOF out we really lack key position depth down back. Don’t think it will cost as much trade wise either.
Wouldn’t be my number one priority but think he would be a good option for a couple years to help Weiters and allow Harry Dean and HOF to develop.
Plus we are a nice team, we need some mongrel and aggression.
FtfyVoss- “There’s no grunt here!
Here, there’s no grunt, alright?
Grunt no, Crippa”?
"No grunt," grunts Cripps.
Lol.Western Sydney isnt really Sydney.![]()
Mitch variety. He needs to channel some of his brother’s mongrel!I’d rather May than McGovern.
And whenever we talk about bringing in someone like that the "no d*ckheads policy" brigade come out.I know exactly what he's like and what has been swept under the carpet!
I'm not saying we should pick him up, but I just hate this squeaky-clean attitude to recruiting players. Every quality team has an enforcer type on their books, except us!
You know what they say when your ball drop is too high and your shoe laces look loose! Just sayin.Shoe laces look loose too
The same was said about Nick Haynes …Anyone wanting May clearly hasn’t watched Melbourne games this year . Completely gone. Mods, please ban anyone that suggests he is a good fit.
Reckon was a little different with Haynesy in that he was mostly playing 2s but looking after himself and doesn’t strike me as the May type of cat personality wise. Watched Melbourne a few times this year and May almost looked lost a lot of the time. Dunno. I’ll leave it to the club to make the call. The same was said about Nick Haynes …
