Funny that

  • PC was the best small forward in the comp this year before the stupid suspension
  • last year Larkey nearly won the Coleman
  • Chom was plucking them and absolutely dominating the backline
  • LDU was dominating games
  • Archer was monstering small forwards
  • Sheezal was the best player we’ve seen at North since Carey and more
  • Colby was putting up ridiculous numbers
  • Wardlaw has been electrifying
  • Powell has had some great games but only plays when the team does
  • and more!

I’m sorry but we may not have the best players but **** me you lot are so quickly forgetting when our players are in tune, we saw so much growth in even Stephen started to lift, FOS and Hardeman started to develop, Cam was finally kicking goals and providing effort. Look how we play when we want to win, all of a sudden we’re elite but as soon as we lose the same players some of you were congratulating last week suddenly have no talent.

We need to stop being narrow minded. It way more than talent or we have shit players, we have a bunch of young men run but cuddly nuffies that have NFI whet they’re doing. The environment, the way we treat losses, standards, emotional manipulation, no accountability, smiling and laughing over being embarrassed. The psyche of these players are shot.
We clearly have more talent on the list than we did 3-4 years ago, but we've barely progressed in that time.

Biggest problems are development, overall club culture and standards and the mental state of the players (lack of confidence, give up easily, fragile).

Nearly everyone who enters the Geelong Football Club leaves a better player than they arrived. We're the exact opposite, almost everyone leaves an inferior footballer.

That’s exactly my point mate.

It goes way further than talent imo. We are broken mentally

Agree 100%

When even the development of high end talents like Harry and George is stalling or going backwards, there is a huge problem.

Really not sure how or if it can be fixed.

After reading the Sacked articles with Andrew Russell. Where he repeatedly states the importance of building your mind as well as your body, I'd like us to get him involved somehow. And his long term association with Clarko is a plus.

The Werribee Football Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Herb Barlow, father of former player and senior coach Michael Barlow.

Herb passed away peacefully at St John of God Hospital in Warrnambool, surrounded by family on August 2, aged 70.

He was a proud supporter of Mick throughout his time at Werribee and beyond, and the Barlow family has continued to support the club through their sponsorship of current North Warrnambool midfielder Jackson Grundy.

In honour of Herb, the club will wear black armbands in our final home match this Saturday against Southport.

A funeral service will be held at St Brendan’s Catholic Church, 123 Knight Street, Shepparton, on Thursday August 14 at 1:00pm.

Back on August 20, Clarko did say we would promote from within first with the extra softcap money.

Possibly add Bruest/C.Ward to the development team and I would say that would be it.

Young enough to to be playing
Do anything to recruit half decent players do a rain dance say the Lord’s prey and even sing a few bars of Amazing Grace do anything to get some decent players.
Person like to see the following
2 X Running Half Backs
1 X Key Position Backman
1 X Speedy Wingman that can kick.
2 X Key Position Forward
1 X Resting or off the bench Ruckman.
If the VFL side can get those type of Top up players I’d be happy.

I'd be happy with this. An improvement on last season.

Room for both

A dev coach to replace Marcon and a dev coach to replace Kearney

Because as a coach he's arguably even more "Washed" than Clarko. I wouldn't say no to a Footy Department role, but coaching wise I'd hope we show far more ambition, and put our faith into a fresh face, as has been the trend of Premiership success the past 10+ years at least.

yeah, that fresh faces Fagan is doing amazing things in Brisbane

Right time, right place. You'd have to consider Simmo when the next change occurs. You'd think he'd be a much better fit culturally for our team than at West Coast. However, seems more like we're trying to develop one of the assistants into the role.

Was Fagan a senior coach at an AFL Club prior to Brisbane?
Only Fly and Bevridge were fresh face in the last 10 years for flags. Fagan was fresh faced when he got the job but it took him over 8 years to get a flag, hardly fresh faced. Same with Hardwick, Chris Scott and Goodwin.

There is nothing wrong with going with experience if they are the best for the job
