And we should also realise that whilst we're fretting about what Brisbane learned from playing us, surely Neale has picked up on the fact that Andrews isn't really comfortable with a huge key forward playing behind him and willing to jump all over him.

For a while on Saturday, even Cox had him fretting by dragging him back to the goalsquare and Cox is, well, impotent. And that's besides the fact that he wears protection.
Yeah i think Neale should probably try to drag him to the goal square too and run and jump at big marks. Get andrews away from the intercepting role.

Did you even watch our game on Friday night and how our midfield went...
Thought the lions and pies game was a higher intensity game. But thinking that was more cos hawthorn wasnt up to the same standard as the other three prelim teams.

Beating brisbane is going to be an awesome achievement cos they are genuine premiership standard. But as Ive been saying for 3 months now. we are better then our 22 flag side. Both sides are deserving of the flag. Only one can win. We have to be switched on.

Dempsey really is going to become the King of the Kids isn't he - every match he's giving high-5s to those in the guard of honour when running out, he always acknowledges our young mascot for the day and today he ran out with two of Ablett's kids

Anyone else oddly calm? I was far more agitated about the first two finals. The first because I needed to see validation we had what it takes, the second because of the cosmic unfairness of being mugged by Hawthorn.

This one? Contrary to my initial instinct that we'd win the QF and then lose the GF due to Brisbane adjusting, I think the Lions are actually:

- a tad incapable scoring-wise. A CHF in his 8th game against our defence? Nah, no matter how many times I hear about his potential or that he looked okay against the swiss cheese that Collingwood's key backmen represent.

- struggle to apply pressure. They've vowed to do it this time and perhaps they can. But the Lions board all year has been infuriated by the fact that only Dunkley seems to be willing to tackle.

- slower than I thought. Even the Ashcrofts; I think that's why Marshall stood out so much recently.

- wedded to only one game plan, which is the same game plan they brought to the table in last year's Grand Final. The stats across the finals compared to last year's GF tell it all:

What Sydney allowed the Lions to do last year was an absolute disgrace, but more or less it's what Gold Coast and Collingwood let them do, too.

I'm just not sure the Lions are capable of change. I'm not even sure they have the smartest coaching box either. They'll come out all fired up to tackle - sure, it's a bloody Grand Final.

We're the ones who've adjusted; I don't think they can.

Adam Kingsley about us on 360 - “they’re gonna win.”
Yet none of Lewis, Riewoldt could tip is on the couch. Never expected the lions blokes too.
Watching fox only Bucks tipped us to win but that doesn't suprise me if you look at the panel
The hatred is real!

Such a weird build up to this GF for me since my house is half-lions.

Anyone here lived through a GF in a divided family and can tell the tale?

Anyone had a Hawthorn-supporting father in 89 and 08 or even 63? A WC-mad mother in 92 and 94? A Carlton-barracking sibling in 95? A Port-supporting spouse in 07 (looking to you CatToTheFuture)? A St Kilda loved one in 09, Collingwood in 11, Sydney in 22, or even god-forbid a rabid conspiracy-theorist half-brother in 20 or 67?

Nothing seems more natural than celebrating or commiserating with those closest to you. I think I will need a game day strategy.
My wife is St Kilda. We live the shadow of RSEA Park. My dog legit took out Wanganeen-Milera's legs on Friday. We went in 09'. Opposite sides of the ground. She slept on the couch. I still sleep in my 09' tshirt regularly. Go Cats.

Duncan not training.
Kolo not training.
Guthrie not training.
Martin not training.

The first three not training is no surprise. Kolo wont be back til next year and the other 2 are done.
Martin not training and Ollie h training is interesting.
