Should mean we won't have to overlay Draper and can seek defensive replacements elsewhere, like Budarick, if Starc leaves.

Sorry to intrude fellas, just thought you may get a good laugh out of this.
Also, goodluck this weekend!
punctuationI think if we move past the starce issue, we also have a backline problem that is just as important as our forward one for next season. Yes, we need to find space for Allen and possibly draper in the forward line (probably at the expense of fort and oscar) and maybe Gallop will keep hipwood out, but we have Kiddy, Payne and Answerth who would all command a starting spot next year. Looking at the backline, it's hard to take anyone out, but those 3 players should be starters given their quality. I feel for Dizzy, but he would have to return to the VFL, and Answerth is the most like for like replacement for starce, and Kiddy will probably fight for a starting spot with Zorks given they're both elite kicks. And given Zorko will be 37 next season, you don't know what will happen there. And that's even before attempting to see if we could get Ridley, and there's also Doedoo. I love Starce, but given our defensive depth, I know for a fact we would be okay without him. I mean, people thought we would struggle when Payne left, and look at what Dizzy has done for us.
Feels strangely specific in those comments.
Looks like Merrett's gone then.
Don't be surprised if this crops up again if not this year in 2026.
He's clearly been unhappy there.

He's a total mouthpiece for somebody but he's too dumb to even remotely hide his bias which always seems to verge to bitter vitriol.Jon Ralph continues to be an absolute knob, on the Midweek Tackle talking about the changing matching bid rules from next years draft.
Pointing out as an example of unfairness how the Lions have got the Ashcroft brothers and Fletcher through father/son, not a bloody mention of the Pies getting the Daicos brothers and Darcy Moore through the exact same system.
Jon Ralph-Imbecile.
Yeah arseh*le, I wanted to throw something at the tv when he was whining about us taking Gallop off Geelong, no mention of the Bulldogs either.Jon Ralph continues to be an absolute knob, on the Midweek Tackle talking about the changing matching bid rules from next years draft.

Sure is
I'll just trot out my next cliché
'never look a gift horse in the mouth'
A lot depends on Merrett. They can stomach 2 walking out. I'd say they'll draw he line in the sand on that if for no other reason than to not look totally inept.I call BS on Ridley. He will be a Lion next year
And very little depth in his discussion of the lions having to factor in softcap travel throughout the year when VFL teams have access to the same monies but aren't as affected as interstate teams. The man in a twat of the highest order.Jon Ralph continues to be an absolute knob, on the Midweek Tackle talking about the changing matching bid rules from next years draft.

This year, and especially in the last month Jon Ralph has turned into the anti-Lions devil, he makes me physically sick to watch now and I put the TV on mute if he ever comes on. It's like he is overindulged with self importance now and thinks he can shape the game rather than report on it. I wish Browny and Lynch had snotted him on the weekend when he was going on an on about the Elliot/Starc decision. His arrogance is outstanding.Jon Ralph continues to be an absolute knob, on the Midweek Tackle talking about the changing matching bid rules from next years draft.

Craxy how the VFL media will absolute shower the Cats with love but spew nothign but hate at our club. Who was it that have been abusing the media down there again? This year, and especially in the last month Jon Ralph has turned into the anti-Lions devil, he makes me physically sick to watch now and I put the TV on mute if he ever comes on. And if they demonise a powerful interstate club. All about clicks
more people click if they always pro VFL teams
