I haven't read the thread but I think the difference was. our defence killed them. For 95 % of the game they could only kick 7 goals. The few late goals were a distraction from what actually happened. Seven goals 20 odd minutes into the last quarter means a defeat.

Andrews, Gardiner and Fletcher murdered them.

What an experience. After my dad passed earlier this season we made the decision to just get to a grand final. Never been to one before. Lucky enough to get tickets. We bought dads ashes with us so he was there.

On a personal level, I am extra happy The Lions won, a very good and close friend of mine Costa, who is a massive Fitzroy and now Brisbane Liona suffered a massive bereavement a month ago with the unexpected passing of his lifelong partner Robyn. He was so devastated and crushed ever since, I visited him tonignt and this was the first time since his loss I had seen him smile/he happy (he was hospitalised after Robyn's death)

I can also applaud you for how stoic and mentally strong your players are and how inspiring and amazing Chris Fagan is, but overall you gave Costa a reason to smile and have reason to life again, and that is something I will be eternally grateful for your amazing footy club. (I still have faith Vossy will turn Carlton around btw)

I was trying not to get ahead of myself but when Lachie kicked that goal in the 3rd the thought came through my head , this is our day.

Brisbane did well today. More impressive with the fact that the Victorian umpires helped the cats in the 1st half.

So there is hope for other non Victorian sides.
