The point was, unlike every other Vic team, you don't have a shared home ground and the stats dont lie Phat, you get to the MCG and fail miserably, especially when it matters

so do other teams. Hawthorn are based there. We beat them there. Twice. What’s their problem. We keep beating Collingwood there. Depending on actual percentage, ie. points for/against, that win rate would be good enough for 4th on the ladder this season.

Just exclusively with our win/loss record at the MCG since the start of 2020.
It would have been good enough for 3rd last year outright, no percentage necesssry.
4th the year before.

In that period we are 3-2 in finals at the MCG, by the way.

No, I’m more inclined to go with the ‘we lost to a very good side who turned it on that we couldn’t match, and we didn’t play our best - it wasn’t the shape of a ground that beat us’ angle here.

How long is it going to take for this idea to be replaced by the far more realistic one that in a sporting contest, the better team on the day simply played better football? You know, the team that also beat us at Kardinia Park handsomely this year

That’s 6 seasons of football. And yes two of them were primarily played elsewhere and our finals record during that timeframe at those venues was 3-4, so not in the positives but it’s not like we didn’t prove we can win finals at other venues either. We beat Brisbane at the Gabba in a preliminary final. We’ve won finals at Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and numerous at the MCG in that time, multiple at the MCG against tenants of the ground.

You’re going to have to look a bit harder than ‘it’s the venue.’

Again, ‘it’s being a bit inferior to the opposition’ might be a better starting point.
