The Suns have had to force out players on salary dumps, and you'd have think if they want Elliot and JUH they wouldnt have a huge amount of cash to pay any significant portion of Petraccas salary.

We have less picks to play with, but I imagine more cap flexibility (stab in the dark there I would admit).

Interesting times.

The story is that Suns are the only club that basically didn’t laugh and hang up when JUH’s agent called. Pretty confident their due diligence on JUH will avoid any likelihood of missing out on Trac. JUH is a side hustle, no different to if we were looking at Hollands, it’s not getting in the way of Ah Chee or chasing Trac in terms of time, cap or picks. With big fish on the table, the speculative deals can wait.

Feel like trading Pedlar would backfire on us in a similar way to the Lyons trade.
I dont

I think Pedlars best is intermittent . I feel he is more a McAdam deal

Yes but I don't trust that Nicks has any clue on how to develop a midfield and I'm willing to give Pedlar the benefit of the doubt.
I feel that if our development was better and we gave opportunities and faith to some of our younger guys, that they could come into the team and make meaningful contributions.

I'd like to see a midfield rotation of Curtin, Pedlar and Taylor and see what those guys could do

You would think the actual trade will be similar to the Bailey Smith one.

I reckon Butts to Melbourne will be part of it.

Murray/Keane are our preferred combo and Butts deserves to be a best 22 player.

Both squads are on a similar trajectory. If he wants a footy state with crowds he'll pick us. If he wants lifestyle obscurity with warmer weather he'll pick Gold Coast. We don't know him, so just wait and see.
That's it - Hirdy in that chat says that he'd prefer to play with Rowell and Anderson, understandable, but imagine lacing out big Thilthorpe out of a center clearance.

He goes into GC as their number 3 guy, and their number 3 midfielder but comes into Adelaide as number 3 or 4 guy but the number 1 midfielder.

No way is the Crows list as deep as the Suns, they have top end draft picks running out of every orifice compared to us and at least 2 more in Zeke Uwland and Dylan Patterson set to join them in coming months. If Hardwick can't win multiple or more flags with this list he will have failed.

Petracca has mentioned publicly how important ANB was as a teammate and player to allow him to play his best footy. Was also brought up last off season that he told Melbourne if their culture was better we wouldn’t be losing ANB. Hopefully we leaned on this relationship heavily yesterday.

Probs late with this but Tom Morris said Suns are looking the more likely landing spot.
That's only because Melbourne are driving him to Gold Coast as they have players they want and the collateral they expect/can appease Melbourne fans.

Melbourne want Bailey Humphrey and San Flanders desperately and want to use Petracca as the main chip to acquire them.

We don't really have a pick or player that 1. Wants to go to Melbourne and 2. A player Melbourne wants

If you're Melbourne it looks a lot better getting pick 6 and Flanders or a straight swap for Humphrey than Adelaide's offer of two late Firsts and maybe Sholl or Pedlar

Too bad they still can't win when the weather is cold.

You mean VB.

It is the line and development coaches in charge of development of players and role they play.

We need a better midfield coach.

Hombsch has been an outstanding backline coach. Can tell in the method our defenders use and how they are all in step.

Our midfield is a uncohesive mess. Not helped by lack of genuine talent (which could be a teaching/development issue as well).

Nah, he wouldn’t. He’s average one on one and provides very little drive. Overvaluing what players like him and Laird bring is shat will continue to set us party from genuine contenders.
Can you remind us of the stats for one-on-one wins and losses for Milera and Laird?

The number of goals kicked on them?

Or is it The Vibe?

Three way trade is probably likely between us/Dees/Suns.

I would have thought a lockdown defender like Butts would be highly sought after at Melbourne.

The Dogs want the Suns to pay all of his 900K salary though, so its not really a side hustle.

Milera ?? 2nd half of the year was pretty strong TBH.

And Laird was fine, its just you dont rate what he brings.

I don’t see a similar type to Laird at any of the contending sides. Neither would get a game at any of the preliminary finalists. They may be best 22 for us, but we’re not competing for flags whilst they’re both in the side.

Obviously it would hurt not being able to secure Trac, but the fact he’s even considering us to the point of touring Adelaide shows that each year different prospects can emerge when you’re an attractive destination.

Nothing is a given of course, but there’s nothing to say that a similar (or even better) option won’t pop up next year, and we would have good draft capital to get something done having missed out on Petracca.

Jordan Lewis has also jumped in on the Rachelle part of Petracca trade.

Shows just because you’ve played the game and get paid to talk about it, you don’t have shit for brains.

They aren't dumb, they are doing it on purpose for engagement
