Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Except here we are, a month later with it still being reported on. That's not shut down by any stretch, the story would be dead if there wasn't something to it. It's likely he's leveraging a salary increase since the Saints are splashing the cash right now, but the longer it goes on the nerves must start to creep in a bit.

Why would we be nervous? He is contracted and worst case scenario is we are well compensated in the event he is traded.

So we are adding TDK, JSOS, Ryan, Aleer, Fincher and possibly Flanders. While keeping NAS, Windy and Cal. And touch wood getting a clean run out of King, Pou and Henry. Worse case we loose Ro for overs and Moose who was probably going to be delisted. Another pre season into the kids. Bring on 2026.

They like to think they are some up and coming big club.

Reality is that in the middle of a rebuild we have 80 less members, with far less star power to bank on.

They are and always will be a nothing club out west.

Wilkie stays or Saints get overs which nets us what the list management think is a stronger position overall.

If he wasn’t contracted I’d be very nervous.

I don’t want to sell my house, but if someone was potentially going to offer me a lot more than what it is worth, I’d definitely listen.

Until Bulldogs make a formal offer there is nothing to shut down.

I would fully expect Wilkie to want to entertain the idea of almost doubling his wage. But he will be realistic and know that any chance of that comes down to what is offered to make it worthwhile to Saints giving up one of their best players.

Yeah, I just wanted to see how these things permeate.

I won't name names, but I was hit up by various ITKs from multiple clubs and fed them little pieces of bullshit and it all then got repackaged as "info from sources" or as "a bit of smoke".

Some of the details got repeated on radio and fed into tweets from journos etc.

Disappointingly, I left some really nice breadcrumbs that should have made the story slightly more believable that nobody picked up on.

The weirdest part was when a group of people on here started banding together and claimed I'd deleted posts from earlier in the year about Nas. Not sure if that was somebody with alts, or a shared false memory, but it was interesting none the less.

Overall I think the board did pretty well. I don't think anyone bought my little yarn hook, line and sinker. But it clearly did influence the commentary.

May was always the obvious choice.

All I hope now is that Melbourne take them to the cleaners, first rounder and ?. I know they said look around but hey that was then, this is now and he’s still contracted.
