Our backline so cooked it's not funnyRampe 1
Year deal
Shouldn't have any impact on either. Not a like for like with Hayward and Paps isn't interested.Does Rosas slightly open the door for Paps or Hayward to Carlton for Curnow?
We have Edwards, he will debut this year. All good. Our backline so cooked it's not funny

I was originally all for JUH coming in but a prudent decision by the Swans if that is the case.Interesting that’s not what I heard (not saying I’m correct).
I heard that when Curnow became a possibility all internal discussions about JUH was on absolute back burner. Less “no” and more “not priority” was the vibe I got.
Rampe 1
Year deal
If he went to those leagues he would also need to get a full time job.I was originally all for JUH coming in but a prudent decision by the Swans if that is the case.
Getting on an AFL list requires dedication and commitment. Why should we give a spot to a bloke who can’t show that and at best is a risk when a young kid is busting his backside to be given a chance and get on the list.
The reality might be JUH might need to go to a State Metro or Country league next year if he is not drafted and show his passion and commitment. If he goes well clubs will be go after him next year.
Rampe is the only strange one age-wise, didn't think he should go on form-wise either.Didn’t think we would sign hamling , Rampe and Lloyd at there age
Seems a little desperate and probably means we are not bringing anyone in for that area and f the ground
Defence looking very average on paper
Mentioned on the Dan Does Footy pod cast that Trac was spotted leaving Swans HQ a week or so ago.

Hamling was pretty good down back, but assuming we'll get 20+ games from each of him, Melican, Tmac is a massive if.
No concerns re: age with Lloyd, one of the fittest and most durable going around. Only just turned 32. It's whether there's a role for him.
They have too many farms, need to give them awayThey're into everyone.
It never ends with GeelongGeelong into Sam Walsh

He hasn't yetWhen did Lloyd re-sign?
The whinging about academies really gets on my nerves. The fact is that the academies have played a pretty marginal role in the success of the swans and lions. Sure, we’ve had Erroll, Blakey, Mills and Heeney (and a couple of others)…admittedly the top of our list….but that’s since 2010. It’s hardly affected the balance of the comp and that’s very few impact players over a long period of time (although imagine where we’d be without those players). The backlash against northern academies following the GF win is predictable but what I don't get is how destination clubs never face any restrictions. Geelong can load up on Bailey (& Isaac) Smith, Cameron, Dangerfield, the Pies with Bobby Hill, Tom Mitchell, Perryman, Houston while Kangaroos and North Melbourne struggle to attract anyone.
If a club makes top four three times in a row maybe they should be banned from trading in listed players for a year or two? This isn't a specific proposal so much as saying if I were a small club I'd be trying to put the clamps on destination clubs rather than taking aim at academies which at least grow the player pool. We talk about equalisation but one of the big inequalities is being able to attract top talent.
Ramps is a strange re-sign, not sure what the club is thinking. I love the man but I feel we need better alternatives down back.Didn’t think we would sign hamling , Rampe and Lloyd at there age

Well it's not all on the backline, or KPDs. There's a couple like Blakey and Roberts which were major culprits that either get back to form or play elsewhere. Its more or less the same back 6 which conceded multiple +10 goal runs but a year older..
When you have as many farms, pubs and cotton on contracts as they can muster, then why not lol.It never ends with Geelong![]()
Do we know whether it's on the senior list?Rampe 1
Year deal
That year would have provided them with some learnings on how to toughen up & fight it out.Its more or less the same back 6 which conceded multiple +10 goal runs but a year older..
