2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th

I dare say it's been said before but why t f does the trade period need to go for ten days 🥴
not having a go here, but this isn't about the spectators. Players and clubs want that time so they can get the details completed.

It's been longer and shorter; 10 days seems like a decent compromise

Wondering how much of a positive effect on our performance people think the list changes (and potential list changes) will have next year. I think there is maybe some over optimism.

Most of any improvement would have to come from luck with injuries and the progression of our young players into better and more consistent performers.

If all goes well a bottom of the eight finish?

Graeme Allan on Trade Radio:

NWM's signing allowed us to start testing the market

Haven't spoken to WCE about Ryan yet

Aleer deal will get done

7 is on the table for Flanders

"We'll see what happens" with Marshall

No convos about Steele yet

"a couple surprises" left!

Great interview Gubby

life goes GIF

A few things he did say.

We internally rate:

TDK as an elite ruck of the comp

JSOS analytical rates as an A+ key defender

Sam Flanders is a player that we rate as an elite midfielder.

We will work with Jack Steele. It’s a match committee decision and above his pay grade (Ross) do right by him and the club. No club has spoken to us yet

Think this will play out the same way as when we did it at the end of 2019. Best case scenario win a final or two.

I'm the first to admit I'm not a great judge, don't have the best grasp of other teams lists etc.

But I dont get it with Aleer. He has looked really good when I've seen him play.

I am more excited about getting him than Silvagni or Ryan.

From the games I've seen, talk of him being a DFA seems absolutely crazy.
