It's amazing how it's only now that people on that site are realising what an immature twat he is

Fair trade tbh. Also more currency to try and work our way towards either Humphrey or top 10 picks. Nothing between 10 and 40 pls.
Horrible deal. History suggests that there's an 80% chance that pick 23 turns out to be vfl calibre. Add in the fact that it's. a poor draft and it'll become closer to 28, that's gonna be closer to a 90% chance that we lost McVee for nothing.

10 years of pick 23's

2014 Pat McKenna
2015 David Cuningham
2016 Alex Witherden
2017 Will Walker
2018 Jez Mclennan
2019 Dylan Williams
2020 Reef Mcinnes
2021 Sam Butler
2022 Harry Barnett
2023 Riley Hardeman

Did you read my post properly?

Did you read my post properly?
yeah. I just disagreed with it.

- Humphrey isn't going anywhere.

- Tim Lamb literally ruined us by compiling picks which is what you want us to do. Just like instead of taking Logan Morris, he kissed picks away to get Tholstrup.

-I think the only think I'd be content with is moving all the picks to next year. There's no way to come out winners at this point. McVee would've gone top 3 in this draft. So it's another massive net loss for Lamb. He had one chance and that was to win Windhager and he couldn't get that done either. And now he's struggling to get rid of May.

You didn't watch it all did you.

Ralph talks about how the settlement could work with JUH being paid half of what he is owed for his last year as a payout.

You can keep going in circles if you like, but I reckon I've explained this enough now.
“Gold Coast will be able to pick Jamarra Ugle-Hagan up on a significantly reduced deal,” Clark began.

“We know that Jamarra is on $800,000 or thereabouts at the Kennel, but that contract is almost certainly going to be ripped up, torn up, and there will be a fresh one at Gold Coast. That could be potentially half, maybe even less than half.

“Gold Coast, while they’re circling Christian Petracca, will have to pay the bulk of his $1.3m deal, they can get Jamarra Ugle-Hagan on peanuts (for) $300-400k. Let’s be honest, this is a bit of a throw at the stumps ... they’re not paying big money for Jamarra, this is going to be a ‘cheap as chips’ deal.

So bascially, pick 23 is useless, especially in a crap draft, but we should defs hold on to pick 31.

Makes complete sense.

What did you guys do to the lad? 🤣

The club badly mishandled the Clayton Oliver situation from the start, in 2023. What should have been a delicate, internal welfare matter turned into a years-long public circus that has damaged his and the club's reputation.

Instead of working with a clearly struggling player behind closed doors, the club chose to leak stories questioning his professionalism, commitment and character. Everything started to spiral.

The "will they, won't they" trade saga we have had every year is farcical. In 2023 & 2024, the club allowed speculation that we were open to trading him - and then act shocked when the media pounced. The club could not decide whether to piss or get off the pot. Either you're standing by him or you're not. Floating him for trade every year is reckless and destabilising.

Looking at the media communication, it is clear that club is unsure of its own stance. One week it was "Clayton is part of our future", and the next is "we encourage him to seek opportunities elsewhere. The club lost control of the narrative as we had our skipper and senior players fielding questions about him since mid last year.

Whatever issues Clarry was going through, (whether it be physical, mental or otherwise) needed care and discretion. Instead the club seemed more interested in pushing a 'tough love' culture than in supporting him. Tough love can work when trust exists. In this case, it clearly didn't.

If it were just Oliver, you could write it off as an isolated case. But then you look at how the club mishandled the Petracca situation - another complete mess of mixed messaging, lack of transparency and tone-deaf public statements. First they tried to downplay it, then fumbled the communications when the full story came out. It showed the same instincts: protect the brand at all costs, even if it means misleading the supporters and leaving the players twisting in the wind. The parallels are hard to miss. A leadership more focused on optics than empathy, and a football department that seems reactive rather the proactive.

At the end of the day, you can't "culture your way" out of a welfare problem. The club tried to exert control instead of offering support, and in doing so, they fractured one of the most talented player-club relationships in the game.

It is a textbook example of how not to handle a high-maintenance but elite player. And the truth is, this probably won't change until there's a genuine reset at the top. Hopefully the new leadership in the boardroom, CEO's office and coach's box leads to a fresh approach with empathy and transparency instead of spin and control to rebuilt trust and stability inside the club.

Did Kozzy ring Sam up and tell him he’s surprised?

I’m pretty Koz was aware of what happened last trade period with Trac and Clarry which was before he signed his big deal.

It's everything i hate in these modern media f*wits. Making up stories and giving opinions based on nothing. I can't stand pretty much everyone in the AFL media. Twomey is about the only one I'd be remotely interested in following.

“McVee would’ve gone top 3 in this draft”

That’s just about better than the body language post

10/10, no notes 😂
