How would you even pronounce that? I can only imagine something like Girly, which seems a problematic way to commence an AFL career.
I heard an interview with him and it’s pretty much pronounced “Grill”.

Bulldogs will likely contribute a fair chunk of his salary to see the back of him.

He won't cost the Suns anywhere close to 900k and will be cheap in terms of trade capital. They would only be tethered to him for 12 months if it doesn't work out. Extending him for more years would be malfeasance by the list manager.
Dogs won't be paying him next year. They've said, through press leaks, they will either want his contract off the books at another club or they will negotiate a settlement to see him delisted.

Thank you for proving my point. Saying that they are willing to negotiate a settlement is basically waving a flag that they're willing to pay him not play for them. So why would another club bother coming to the trade table if they had to take his contract on in full?

They could just add him to their list once he's delisted.

It's not proving your point at all. You said the Bulldogs would be paying part of his contract once he's at GC. In both of those options that doesn't happen.

He either gets a lesser amount than what his contract would pay him next year - That's how a negotiated settlement works - gets delisted and then has to try and find his way onto a list through the SSP, or GC pay his full contract for 2026. Now given it's been mentioned they likely have cap issues, it would make complete sense for them to then spread that out over 2 years.

JUH being delisted and heading to the SSP would be a clear sign to clubs that GC don't think he's worth much of a risk, and more worryingly it would mean an even longer time where he's not contracted and can stuff it all up. There's also the point that anyone could take him in the SSP if he somehow turns it all around, so GC then miss out.

The Bulldogs cannot unilaterally decide to pay less than the contracted amount if they de-list him.

Again, negotiated settlement.

"If a trade is not feasible, the club will likely then negotiate his payout figure, including whether they settle on the full amount of his guaranteed contract or attempt to negotiate an agreement, potentially where the club pays him half of the total."

Hypothetically, if JUH was delisted do you think that he will negotiate against himself to receive a payout less than his what he is contracted for?

He is not leaving money on the table.

Head to 8 minutes in. I'm not sure how much more I can explain it to you. It's spoken about here in terms of what would likely happen with a negotiated settlement.

So you avoid my question and cite a clip of Jon Ralph speculating that the Bulldogs might dock his pay for missing training sessions, notwithstanding that they granted him leave from the club.

Not your best work, Nev!

You didn't watch it all did you.

Ralph talks about how the settlement could work with JUH being paid half of what he is owed for his last year as a payout.

You can keep going in circles if you like, but I reckon I've explained this enough now.

Save yourself the stress mate. Like mostly in life, the boss always thinks he is right.

Gold Coast going to get Petracca and then get 2 players in the top 5 of the draft, pushing what they give us back further.

Usually a club wanting to trade in an experienced player, like Melbourne trading in Steven May, hand over pick 6 and then you don’t take a guy in the 1st round.

It’s normally a choice, draft a prospect or trade for experience. Suns though getting everything.

I’m all for academies keeping local talent home, but the current system is ridiculous.
Not ridiculous, it's completely ****ed. The AFL don't care though, it's all about ensuring success for the northern clubs so they can "grow the game", they know us suckers will keep fronting up year in, year out regardless of performance.

Problem with Trac going if it's player driven it's hard for us to really put our foot down with the Suns and demand Humphrey.
Sorry if I've missed it, but where did the reports its "player driven" actually come from?

Petracca was on a flight to Hahndorf before Steven King had even been shown his desk.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if they tumble down the ladder a bit next year with a tougher draw. Their midfield is atrocious

What if Jack Steele winds up here?
No chance, thankfully. We'd be paying Oliver to play elsewhere while paying a more defensive, more injury prone Oliver to play for us.

Hmm. Ok.

Changing tack: Whats the status on Max Heath? What other moves do you or are we expecting this off-season?

Reckon Heath happens for a late pick, although Marshall being traded may complicate things. OOC though, so can't imagine it not being done.

Expect Trac will go to GC for picks (and maybe a token player like Ainsworth or Davies to save face), Mihocek will be a token trade to keep our Spargo compo, Oliver will go for one of GWS's late seconds, McVee probably for a Dockers second, and May will possibly stay given the lack of interest.

Don't see too much else happening, apart from our usual pick trading to move up (or move into next year's draft).

Before anybody says anything, this is what I think will happen, not necessarily what I want to happen lol. Would obviously love Humphrey, but will only believe it when I see it.
