Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13

Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

Whan has a pretty solid body of work that should see him ahead of Williams.

Curtin might be seriously good value late.
Curtin to go the big slide like jack williams did due to being a barge .

He is huge and he monstered everyone in the colts .

Then struggle a bit more at the champs due to not having as much of an advantage.

At afl level he will be on guys his own size

He's incredibly bias, but kinda right in this case.
But he shouldn't comment anything to so with the eagles.

We shouldn't get pick 2. Just like clubs shouldn't get FS and NGAs for practically nothing.

Tbh I don't think there should be compo picks whatsoever - but RFAs should not be able to go top clubs without a trade.
We get the same band1 compo as anyone else a first round pick after our normal first .

Hird like his old club is irrelevant.

His is a massive sook.

Very one eyed and .....well.......irrelevant.

Is he still sooking over our massive PP assistance........pick 24 now isnt it? And sliding.
That pick ends up in the 30s if it doesn't disappear through FA bidding

Is Reidy any good? From what i am told he was nowhere near being the best ruck in the WAFL. If you can't dominate WAFL how good are you going to be at AFL level?
Reidy isn't that good but he is better than what we are currently rolling out .

I think Flynn has hit his ceiling. Maybe if he has a uninterrupted pre season he could improve.

Bailey is now 25 years and coming up to 100 games . He needs to stand up and be the man . He just gets pushed off the ball way too easily around the ground .

Good points.
I remember a few years ago when we were in the start of our doldrums the media were declaring that OA was our only bright spark. Interesting how the perspective shifted and he’s now gone. Glad we got a good pick for him

If Oscar wasnt so injury prone then he would still be with us.

Thats the entire issue.

After backing so many injured stars and failing we simply could not roll that dice again.

Lions can afford to.

The end. :(

Time to give up on a ruck. It wont happen :( . The blond hope we have is the new rules will benefit Bailey Williams and then give Archer Reid a chance also to become a primary ruck or atleast try to be. Lets not forget the blindest of all blind hopes in Harry Barnett too

Feels like between the Young/Starcevich/Robertson trio and our list moves so far we do need 1 more mature body recruit in. Max picks id like us to take is 5. I also see a great benefit in moving Cripps off the main list to take a rookie list spot to then free up a spot next year after he retires also. That would have us at 6 list spots remaining.

From here we gotta get on the phone to a few guys getting squeezed out. Alex Davies now has a Petracca sized road block. You got Jack Steele and St Kildas midfield in general being squeezed, you got Sydney desperate for more assets and us having a great ability to give that to them. Lets get something done

Not sure if it belongs in the Contract or Offseason thread.

Dusty come on down.

There isn't always a dead cert #1 Pick even last year Lalor was projecting outside the top 5 in the lead up to the draft, it wasn't until Richmond made it clear he was their man that it was a sure thing.

Same goes for Aaron Cadman - widely seen as a bit of a reach by GWS.

Harley is more of the exception really.

Exactly the point.

If there is a pool of talent all in the mix, then a drop from 1 to 5 is not as big a play as a drop from Harley to a Duursma/Watson/Sanders/Windsor...

Wait, wtf? We get pick 2 for Allen? But I was told it wasn't going to happen?

Fox is reporting that Richmond and Essendon are talking about Richmond moving down. Logically that would be Richmond's 3 for Essendon's 5, giving Essendon 3 & 5. That's almost a straight swap for 1 + 13 of we were that way inclined (maybe some later swaps favourable to us).

Did they what else is heading Richmond's way?

I think it may be more that they don’t want to pay the pick 1 price for Duursma. And/or really want CDT and consider us unlikely to pick him.

It doesn’t make much sense bunny hopping up the order 5-3-1

Would rather just trade up to pick 7.

1, 2 & 7

Duurmsa made a clear gap now. Cal said last night the Dons have set their eyes on Duursma but it’s unlikely we trade that pick.

I imagine one of Essendon's seconds. The article mentioned points for Kellaway, though I think that would come from us via the Young trade.

Depends who we want. I figured 2, 13 + 34 also works.
