2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th

This what I'll be doing when I watch flying Ryan pull down some speccies with my West Coast loving in-laws! Can't wait!

I’ve got a feeling we are just gonna go bag bang with GC out of nowhere and bring in Humphrey B Bear.

I feel like we'll just be loitering and sniffing around to see if we can't weasel into a 3 way trade to help facilitate a Curnow, Petracca, Merrett or sort a favourable trade independently to help one of the clubs get the capital for those trades.

That and waiting for Geelong to come to the party for Marshall, otherwise we must be keeping something else very well under wraps.

I did see Paddy Dow was on holidays with Sam Walsh yesterday... 👀

Struggling to see how when we really dont have the picks?
Marshall is leaving (for F1), we also have our own 2026 F1 and 2027 F1. So that's 3 F1 picks to play with, more if Steele leaves. So we should have enough ammo for 1 more big fish.

Regarding Aleer, even at $600k is an overpay, understandable if we didn't get JSOS. But now we do, it's too much financially and trade capital wise to pay for potential only. We move on.

Next we wait for how things play out with others and go for 1 more trade if things go in our favour.

Somebody should remind Josh Jenkins that we did the exact same thing with big Ivan Soldo last year. Think TDK, JSOS, Flyin' Ryan and Ned, and their respective managers, must have missed that.

Geelong have seemingly offered a 1st, and we are still talking that hes staying, so I very much doubt that will get done, and correctly so. If were gonna be left with just 2 rucks on our list (Keeler is not a ruckman) , I want a Godfather offer thanks

Soldo was a bit different, he failed a medical. That's a clear red flag that no one would dispute as grounds to walk away.
