Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

I look at it like this

Charlie crap has been bubbling along for 6 months or more
We are desperately trying to change culture

Our focus coming in was depth and a range of players. No need to go to draft with Jagga, Dean, Ison, Walker all coming in

If we walk away with Florent, Hayward, Pick 11 and F1 then that’s solid. Virtually secures Walker next year and we could easily trade up for a Top 4-5 pick. We now have solid mature depth to help our development and competition for spots

With much more SC room we have set ourselves up for next decade and got kids in before Tasmania stuff the draft

A lot on here aren't happy unless we get a big name back in return, but show me a trade in the last 5 years where a big name was traded for another big name. Clubs want to bring star players in to add to their pre-existing stars, not remove them.

We desperately need to add players outside of our top 6 and we do that effectively with this trade. All whilst also walking away with a mega strong draft hand. AND whilst getting rid of two players who had clearly checked out this year.

Very good result.

Right? Giving a second back would be a nasty sting in the tail. A first rounder free and clear is great. A ~10 pick upgrade of our second is worth vastly less than that.

They aren’t moving on Humphrey for 10 and a 4 pick downgrade. They will find other ways to get points before doing that.

Just like us with Charlie they would need to win the deal.

They're also not going to trade Humphrey to ensure they have points for a bid match in the 20s. Would be like us having points for Dean and then trading out Walsh to make sure we don't miss out on Ison.

More economical for them to just wait for the bid on Addinsall, see what the shortfall is, and then trade a future second or third for an extra pick this year to make up the points.

We will be alright everyone. We are literally going to lose CC and rebuild that forward line to with good players in being less predictable and more dynamic than it has been in ages. Find the sliver lining. We never were getting top liners in return. We’ve done relatively well.

Who even is our top 6 now tho? Cripps Walsh Weitering Harry Hewett and Cerra? Doesnt really strike the same kind of fear into the heart as we might’ve two years ago, and its become clear we can’t rely on coaching to separate us from the pack either

Yep, 3 of the 4 prelim sides this year all lacked KPF stocks. Seems to be the direction the game is headed in (for now).

We've been pissing and moaning about how bad our fwd like has been for years and now we get rid of some of our tall timber, on our terms, and we're still not happy.

More than happy for us to try something completely new. Because what we have right now ain't working.

This makes so much sense. Especially that future to bring in Cody next year. Not sure why this trade, even with Florent (who I think is an upgrade on several of our players) is being treated like the end of the world.

Also anyone say no thanks to Hayward don't watch footy. Was down this year, but has always been a better than average player who works his arse off. I think he will do wonders for Harry and Kempy and Ashton.

Also, Soapy, I miss it when you're not here. You make the most sense most of the time!

I reckon we’re receiving more than 2 firsts + Hayward + Florent.

Three reasons:
1. it was said from the start that we need to be seen to clearly win the deal to appease fans after losing TDK
2. There must have been a reason why Rowbottom was being pushed out. There’s also the rumours around Logan McDonald leaving to WCE
3. The Swans were supposedly trying to broker trades get players from other clubs to Carlton as part of the weekends negotiations
