Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

I think it is significantly better than the Geelong deal, but still not acceptable.

Pick #11 is better than Pick #19.
Sydney F126 is better than Geelong F126
Haywood is better than Geelong F127.
+ Florent...

Better on all counts, but still not there.
Sydney will finish higher than Geelong next year with Curnow. I can see Geelong starting to fall away. So the future first is no guarantee to be better than Geelong's.

My feeling is that we were never going to hold Curnow to his contract - Sydney know that and they know we’re going to blink instead of adding to the deal as deadline grows closer- Sydney are taking away from the deal.
Exactly. Loose lips Charlie probably wouldve told Swans he doesn't want to go back to the Blues therefore they can lower their deal just making sure its a tad higher than the Cats to get it over the line.

Meanwhile our other Coleman winning KP forward has a history of head knocks and has had challenges with Mental Health (which can be linked).

Lot of eggs to put in the Harry basket, is he happy to be the main man? What's plan B if he has another severe concussion?

This is giving me the Cinderella's!

"If we take some time to think it over, baby
Take some time let me know
If you really wanna go
Don't know what you got 'til it's gone
Don't know what it is I did so wrong
Now I know what I got
Just this song
And it ain't easy to get back
Takes so long"
Yep. Fair points.

The Brisbane/Collingwood approach the model to follow for mine. Prioritise skills and a dynamic, dangerous forward mix that doesn’t rely too heavily on the big guys.

Think Moir, Kemp, Hayward, Ainsworth are nice starting point here. Keen for what HOK can do as well and if we can get Motlop to the level (I’m a believer in Jesse)

Mids who can run and kick win flags, our entire list needs a rebuild so I wouldn't worry, we are 4 years from being relevant as it's a complete game style and list change needed

Petulant, dumb, greedy, disloyal. Whatever the right word is I don't think we really know. But he's a very consistent player.
We didn’t consistently see his best. We consistently saw “ enough”.

The bloke is a freak, he should be CONSISTENTLY a top 10 PERFORMER in the competition.

The biggest issue structurally is his positioning and the effect on our entire forward line. We have lamented the lack of effectiveness of forward coaches, how much has his demeanour and commitment level impacted that performance?

Charlie carried the club to finals through the back end of ‘23. He was clearly all in. He was clearly cooked and kept giving. Then went missing in finals, was he physically cooked or perhaps checked out a bit mentally. (Ed selections?)

Has been downhill from there. Flippant footballer, all the chest thumping does not excuse the petulant play on pinging when the game is on the line. The percentages do not add up.

I shudder to think what he could do at Sydney or Geelong with some elite delivery, but remind myself that for quality connection, both the bloke kicking and the bloke leading need to put in. If he raises an arm and says kick it to me here, he may sabotage the club’s system.

Done.

Take 10 and 11 and go fishing for Humphrey or Rachelle if GC don’t budge.

Chris … you’re not listening !!
Sydney have to do better than that.
They can start by taking Florent out of the deal.
We don’t want him and his 4 year contract.
The deal isn’t good enough for us to be accepting a dump as well !!
