Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

22 for Florent and 63 is way too much. Florent is worth a late 2nd/early 3rd.

I’m not quite sure that’s true in this year’s draft but I could be wrong.

I would still take Hollands over Florent based on those numbers alone. Taking contract value and length into consideration, it's a clear win to Hollands.

Apart from Walsh, who plays more midfield than wing, Florent is a better wing than any of those others.

Yep! He’ll slot in very nicely on our wing!

I don’t see the same issue as many re our midfielders - nothing wrong with being a dominant contested ball team. The issue is the quality of our receivers - we don’t get bang for buck, nowhere near it.

Better footballers/users/runners on our wings and back flanks and that contested ball performance will equal goals.

"I had a browse of the Sydney Board trade thread the other night re the Curnow trade. As soon as i read that Florent and Hayward are housemates and business partners, it seemed pretty clear to me they could be part of the Curnow trade together.

Carlton have long been interested in Hayward and now seem interested in Florent. The 2 first rd picks, Hayward and Florent would seem a logical trade for a wantaway but contracted Curnow.

I am a fan of Hayward. Im not a fan of Florent. But the Club seem a fan of both.

Dont think we can do better than that for Charlie, and we do badly need the 2 firsts. So it depends if we really really want to keep Charlie when he clearly doesnt want to be there anymore.

Id say the above would now be close to a done deal. Imo"


It still looks like thats the deal, and whether we want Florent in the deal or not, clearly Will Hayward

would. It is extremely hard to get top players, actual quality contracted players to come to Carlton right now. We have long coveted Hayward.

Forget the ambit Pick 22, and the actual deal looks right. And "right" means "doable", not "wishable".
