I’m with others who don’t think it matters that much.I think a lot of people would be more in on Curnow if Sydney was his number 1 option.
Or the medical staff. (Or the footy injury gods.)Its only a disaster if we finish bottom 4-6 again and if we do with that list then questions would seriously need to be asked of the coaching staff
None of them are Rampe types as you put it. Rampe was 183cm. Serong is 194cm, Edwards 197cm, Snell 194cm, Andrew 193cm. not all forwards are 200cm. Only 7 in the whole comp. Tilthorpe, Darcy, Ben and Max King, McKay, Neale, Chol, The rest range between 191 and 199, Most tall forwards are in the 192-196 range. I don't think any of our Key Backs are in the Rampe undersized range at all. I don't care who is untried. You have to try them to see if they are any good. The other thing is truly top quality key Defenders don't grow on trees. See what happened with Essendon, they thought they were getting Stephen Silvagni in McKay, who they got was an interceptor who is pretty shit at defending. If you take away Stewart's intercept game he isn't much good at defending either. True lock down defenders are rare as Hen's Teeth,
We have Tommy and Melly, both have played the majority of the last 3 years. Edwards, who until injured last year was developing very nicely as a key Defender, and his opponents rarely hit the scoreboard. He is 197cm and about 100keg. He's a Big Boy. plus the bugger can really play. He is incredibly strong and makes me think of Reg. But you probably don't know who Reg is, you might be a bit too young.

Past time for the club to invite the footy gods over for a drink and a quiet discussion about a 3rd party payment.Or the medical staff. (Or the footy injury gods.)

Being able to know what is in your academy pipeline 2 years out is actually a GIANT advantage. We are getting hung up about the price we paid for Curnow but being able to trade with picks two years in advance has changed the system , we will see a lot more of it. The first rounder for 27 will blow out big time with Tassie in.
Wasn't fussed either way about Curnow but cautiously optimistic now. Still think our biggest worry is our midfield which can get rag dolled at times. Serong I am hoping will really give us options down back and we need Snell and Edwards to push for senior selection this year.
I’d be a fan of debuting him soon to see what he’s gotYep …
If Edwards can stay fit and fully embody his inner Reg, the whole backline issue resolves.
They already have farms down at GeelongPast time for the club to invite the footy gods over for a drink and a quiet discussion about a 3rd party payment.
Id Roger Wilko that.I just read an article that Oscar Baker from Western Bulddogs is unsigned . I think hes a really good player. I dont know whether theyre going to recontract him but if he became available in a rookie draft?
Hopefully we just have a normal season. 2024 we had a good run. 2025 was obviously at the other end. Is it too much to ask for only a handful of tweaks and smaller injuries.Past time for the club to invite the footy gods over for a drink and a quiet discussion about a 3rd party payment.

I didn't say we want pick 3. I responded to your claim that we gave up the most for any player ever – we just didn't. Pick 3, pick 20 and Kennedy for Judd was a bigger price than what we paid.Who mentioned Pick 3? What the **** do we want pick 3 for? We need the lower pickS, 20 onward for our Academy Boys. I sad; THREE FIRST ROUND PICKS WE GAVE FOR CURNOW, 2025, 2026 AND 2O27 PLUS HAYWARD. We already had a 3rd rounder for Florent in a separate deal.
We will finish top 4.
If we did not have so many injuries this year we would have made the eight easily.

Exactly what the Carlton guy said after the trade. They know he's a first rounder
Getting 31 and 42 this year from Carlton more than repays the 2027 first rounder we gave them. Without those two picks, we would have had no chance of getting all 3 of the academy kids we want. That is pretty much me in the last day. I hated the price we paid for Curnow. Hated it.
But then I looked at next years and the years after draft picks. I have hit a calm period.
Curnow was the best we could do. He was the only FF worth a crack. There was nothing else.
I am actually OK with it all. I am all in with the Swans decision to do this.
And it is against all of my usual feel right isms which are usually right.
If we are forcing out players of the calibre of Will Hayward and Ollie Florent, I reckon we have a pretty good side.
