TBH I wouldn't be surprised if Justin Reid and Don Pyke had already discussed a potential pick swap if Dyson slides to 13

13 for 16 + F2 + F3.

WCE get the best WA Mid Jacob Farrow plus more future draft capital for their rebuild. Seems like a textbook Don Pyke move to me.
I think we should be targeting one of Carlton's first pick, they could look to move 9 or 11 on for points for Harry Dean?

I did consider those. Especially considering their need for points for next years bid in Walker. As long as it doesnt involve our F1 then sure.

But 5 or 7 selection jumps start getting pretty pricey in most drafts. Not sure we could manage either and hold onto the F1. Carlton would need to be willing to take a discount.

I don't.

Only picks we have of any real value aside from our 2025 1st are all our 2026 draft picks in a stronger draft a year ahead of Tasmania and their plethora of 2027 1st round picks.

I can't see any merit in trying to trade up in this Draft .....too many ??? over too many players

Of course, in the lead up to this Draft, everything about every player is going to be spruced up, polished, and gift wrapped, as shiny new toys

It's only when you get to unwrap it, you find out it's a fake

I want to see us roll the dice on rookie selections, I mean that's what they are there for. You'd have to go back to Charlie Cameron to find and exciting rookie selection that had high risk but high reward.

Rookies are most likely not going to make it anyway, so there's no need to be safe with these picks.

Rookie drafting is now taken over in several case by SSP.

If you want high risk reward, what about Anthony Wilson, Hugh Greenwood, Nick Murray, Mark Keane, Toby Murray

In this Draft, contrary to my normal ramblings on picking best available for need .....this is Draft where you go best available b4 it falls away

Where we're positioned, we won't get to pick & choose
nah im taking the best CBA player in the draft at our pick this time. trade a late second in for cody curtin losing F2. i think cook gets delisted and rookied but it could be welsh instead. probably cook.

We'll know by next Friday week October 31 if we're nominating Mitch or not I guess.
What is the system now? If we nom him, we need to take him with our last pick?
If we don't, and he's not drafted, we get him as a rookie??

Sorry, I've lost track of the rules.

Unless he gets an opposition club bid earlier in that case we have the option to match or pass is my understanding.

OK, so who would that be @ #20 ?

Well we know Mitch Stevens is quick at least.
Bunch of state and national combine results:

Wow! First in 20 meter sprint with a blistering time! Mitch Stevens (VIC) - Gippsland Power: 2.885 Surely with his pedigree and influences he is a solid footy player as we!l! Worth a punt as likely we are giving up peanuts for him?

yeh probably. i havent followed the u18s this year so will leave to others but i cant see point of getting more of what we have.
You can't grab a nuffy though, simply because he's a Mid ....at #20, our options are limited, so the best option available is clearly the way to go in this Draft .....if that's a small fwd, or a HBF ....that's simply how the chips fall this year

2.885 would be about our 2nd quickest player ever

Which is pretty amazing as his Dad's nickname was "Sloth".

And didn’t some of those go on to have outstanding careers

Shuestar13 Whats the consensus on your board who you are keen on? CDT seems fairly likely but would you go a mid or a KPP?

He (CDT) is not the favoured choice 😆 People braying for Sharp or another mid at 2.

The club will pick the best talent available, so the lean is to Duursma and CDT but we are open to offers for pick 2 from what I understand.

We'll give you Reilly O'Brien and Matthew Nicks...

Would happily take ROB, we could do with a solid, dependable ruck 👍

Jury is still out on McQualter, but for a team in our position, Matt would be a good choice.

Big year for him next year. 18-5 is excellent, but straight sets negates it unfortunately. Must make and win a final next year, otherwise that’s it you’d think (expect!).
