I live in Brisbane. All QLD fans are this way with all their teams (Lions, Roar,

Grab Thredgold or Ludowyke at 18, take Ah-Mu/Wright/Kondogiannis/Curtin at 36, then maybe Dahlitz/Byrne at 57.

That deal is horrible to move us up 8 spots. Only way you'd do that is if we got a future pick in return also

It's just the bones of the deal on points. 25, 26, 46 is 1,285 points for 1,153 pts from GC 18 (836) and 36 (317).
GC aren't going to do the trade unless they get a points gain off us to help pay for their academy kids.
Maybe you could push for a GC F3 back. Depends if you really want someone in that top 18 picks.

Pink, Trembath, Banch and Hansen Jnr as the 4 rookies.
If we delist someone we could use four ND picks or it opens up live trading of them on draft night.
Maybe they'll try and do some pick swaps before it closes on Friday, otherwise getting 57 is rather pointless.

Yep, this is spot on.

Finnbar was basically traded for free to give the lad a chance to continue his career, when he would've been delisted otherwise.
I know 57 would come in after academy picks, but it's essentially a junk pick this year. Strong chance only 45-50 get taken

He's a lemon but if we're live trading the R2 picks to Gold Coast for 15 (for example) the 3rd pick comes to life.

True, but I don't see other teams just throwing picks away or needlessly painting themselves into corners. Everyone else opens up list spots so they can take their picks to the draft.

Agree. The only thing this year is there's plenty of other teams that have the same list spot and pick crunch.
There should be a team that needs some late picks or points for academy or NGA players this year.
But you are forced into trading before the draft, so largely have to take what you can get, whereas draft night maybe that pick 57 comes in a little earlier when bids chew up some picks and it has a smaller pts value to trade.
Anyway, have to wait and see what the trade is before Friday.

Sure I get that. But we could've just taken future picks and not upgraded 64 to 57.
We've got no flexibility to trade 57 on draft night right now, which should get some points value with all the bids.

It’s also possible we could do a deal with Carlton or GC for their first rounder and 57 becomes a sweetener… but it sounds like we’ve already made plans for how we’re going to use the two r2s.
