I’m taking:

3: Sullivan Robey
4: Dyson Sharp / Sam Cumming
38: Jai Murray

I just feel we need to fill out the midfield depth first which doubles as half forward resting spots.

Hotton, Lalor, Smillie, Robey, cumming/Sharp rotating from mid to half forward is extremely dangerous I think.

Jai Murray as a silky winger at 38

I understand the logic of focusing on the midfield . It is the engine room and making it work well is he most important thing long term.

Only comment is that CDT looks like being a 100+kg mid as well as ruck and KPF. And that we have the next couple of years and FA/trades to fill holes.

In any case unless WC takes Sharp we get either CDT or Robey, and we take whoever is there. Then I'd go Sharp for exactly your reason, he provides the missing piece in our midfield.

the thing is if we don't get CDT, when we could of, we are stuck with a player that may not have that extra benefit for the team, and although he night be cheaper getting mids is easier

Well I reckon we'll get the choice of CDT or Robey, not both. If we can pick both then we should take them.

here is another reverse logic, blah blah logic.

we have a lot of talls, with versatility, whether back/forward, who knows yet

if we have a giraffe ruckman can it work??? do we need a tall like CDT along with Sims to allow the other taller players to function because we are not playing a conventional ruckman and therefore have more mobility despite our height across the ground

in other words we might not know it yet, because our talls are still developing, but we might need CDT, aka he is actually the missing ingredient, because conventional ruckman makes us too tall causing us mobility issues over the ground

are you suggesting West Coast picks Duursma and one of CDT or Robey??? in which case the choice is not made by us

Of course. If there are a top 3, Duursma, CDT and Robey then it is logical that WC will pick from them. The only issue is that a player like Sharp is probably their greatest need. So they might go Duursma and Sharp. Whatever happens happens.

Is it just me seeing things or can CDT not take a pack mark and fumbles relatively easy marks too ?
Most young talls struggle to pack mark until they get the body development to enable them to hold their ground. He will be a very good player with a much higher ceiling than most but his advantage over most talls is his mobility and ability at ground level. Richmond is crazy if we overlook him if available at our picks.

Last night we went through a heap of the Rookie me Draft guide profiles!

Gld to see you've turned around on Sharp. And I hope my putting in every post to you that you need to look about 5 years out actually got to you. or was it just your natural smarts?

Anyway, we pretty much can't miss with our picks. Only thing is whether we go for best available Robey/CDT/Sharp, or go for needs - Grilj for me.

Bid like crazy, unless WC have done it for us.

Pick up whoever slips at 38 (33ish) and then Kellaway.

Easy.

OK, I am really stupid today. Doe that mean you want Grilj? or don't?

To me if we don't take the obvious players he is the most likely to fit into our team and be a difference maker.

I still reckon we should take the most obvious players Robey/CDT, whoever's available, and then Sharp.
Dont feel bad as its not just today

Definitely need to bid on Dean early as well. Make it as hard as possible for Carlton next year
