I wouldn't bother with either, not enough physicality, not enough straight line speed on the regular. As much as I like Alex Mirkov, I think Flyn Riley offers more if we were to rookie list another project ruckman. I saw the finals he played and whilst he was good just think he doesnāt have enough āshit in him-and aggressionā for AFL.![]()

I don't care how many people are thinking jumping rucks are back, there's so much more football outside of the centre circle.
100%Regardless of who, I still believe we need another ruckman (probably a developing one) on our list.

It took Skull 2 years to make a senior game. He's coming along very nicely. Riley is raw... even more raw than Skull is. But he's got a lot of upside to him.Regardless of who, I still believe we need another ruckman (probably a developing one) on our list.

Zac Harding played a game for our VFL side late in the season, thought he was really impressive.I was responding to Jimmae, who doesnt rate him, I liked what I saw of Riley. However if our List Management Team have their eye on another developing ruckman who they rate more highly than Riley, then I'm fine with that.
My point still stands, I believe we do need another developing ruckman on our list.
Zac is similar to Skull OāKeeffe. Projects as more KPF than ruck. Think he is a long way off at the moment. Is the type that needs to develop through the VFL. already an overager overlooked in one draft.Zac Harding played a game for our VFL side late in the season, thought he was really impressive.
Personally, I'd be taking him ahead of Riley - slightly undersized for a ruckman, but more athletically gifted from what I saw. Got a bit of agro in him as well![]()
I'm with you. He is athletic and has a nice tap. We can give him some time to develop and grow.Flynn Riley is a yes for me. 21 year old, 206cm. Unless we have someone better lined up that is.
1. I am not keen on drafting 18 year old rucks and teams are letting them go a little more now and there are some finding their way to state leagues who have some talent. That's fine. They take a long time to develop and with smaller lists you just can't have those projects clogging up your list. Best to try and get them when they are 20.
2. Pittonett is 29 and doesn't really jump so it's now or extremely soon to find his replacement.
3. Reidy is a good get but he is one player, is he what we need? Not sure.
4. We could do with a fairly dominant ruck. Is Riley that? I like that he is a player we can kick to, can mark and compete and potentially rest forward.
I'd like to get a guy who can dominate the ruck a little more. We would get more out of our midfielders and take away some opposition tactics that exploit our pace and mobility issues. I just want a ruck that can play that role really well. Win a lot of hitouts, hit to advantage a lot or break even and be someone reliable to kick to around the ground. They don't have to be super mobile and skilled like DeKoning, just play the ruck role really well. Oscar McInerney type.
Could be a good one for the rookie list.

YesJust to help clarify. We have Dean, will get Ison. If we do select another player in draft tomorrow (besides Ison), would that mean only 1 list spot left?
If we take a 3rd player, that would say to me that it's highly unlikely EH will be on our AFL list in 2026, which is sad for me at many levels....
Doesn't HOF 's ACL long term injury mean that he goes on to the long-term injury list and EH could get a spot on the list with that opening? If we take a 3rd player, that would say to me that it's highly unlikely EH will be on our AFL list in 2026, which is sad for me at many levels....
Inactive List for a season-ending injury that would mean no incentive for a young player to return to play in ā26 with only rehabbing to look forward to.Doesn't HOF 's ACL long term injury mean that he goes on to the long-term injury list and EH could get a spot on the list with that opening?
I think we need to accept that Elijah probably wonāt be in the senior next season. If itās true he has come back to pre season n average shape then I think itās actually for the best that he goes. It seems like he is all talk and doesnāt really want to work for his career. Itās a shame because he is very talented but as a few have said before if we are fair dinkum about changing the culture of mediocrity that has infested the club for over a decade then I think itās actually an important step for us that he is shown the door.If we take a 3rd player, that would say to me that it's highly unlikely EH will be on our AFL list in 2026, which is sad for me at many levels....

Unless thereās complications, canāt see it happening.

The thing about Elijah is he always has that puppy fat look but he's routinely one of our top runners so it doesn't impact him. I haven't seen any preseason pics of him to judge body composition but if it's similar to his usual look that wouldn't be a problem. If he's come back in worse condition then yeah that wouldn't be a great look for a guy fighting for his career. A lot of variables at play. I guess it depends how he buckles down over pre-season.
I keep forgetting Allen, he and Murray would complement our list nicelyTake sam Allen tonight. Put him on the inactive list then take tobyn murray as a SSP selection.
Take a rookie pick on fri
"If Ison gets past our pick tonight" I wonder, with 24 hours to work with, whether we can come up with a trade that ensures we get ahead of any bids on Ison and gets us the player we would take at 28 without a bid. Surely one of the 2 clubs ahead of us would be happy to get some extra draft capital rather than just screw us over.If Ison gets past our pick tonight and we want another KPD.
Why wouldnāt we just take Thredgold. Talented, ready to go KPD.
Phillips is a less talented Lewis Young!
BTW: Iād rather take Ludowyke, Phillipou, Kickett or NHH.
