They have 4 tied talents and not enough list spots. It could happen!Isn't Banfield a Father/Sun tied to West Coast?

Most big free agents next year are restricted so keeping our F1 is a bit of insurance incase a club decided to match the FA offer. What do we need future picks for when it’s an apparent free agent?
I don’t think key forward is a need? King Marshall Sharman, with Caminiti and Keeler in the 2s, not to mention Dodson in years to come as a ruck/fwd. I see a few mention Key forward as an area of need, I think that is one area we have covered more than enough.
Hes sliding because he missed champs and he got played out of position in SANFL reservesSo average draft and Jevan won’t make the top 30, sounds like an emotional want rather than a need by the club. Hopefully we don’t trade up to get him.
Given half the points of that list is noting the player is raw/young, doesnt that suggest we dont need another developing fwd and if we need to add a player of that position, it should be a mature player who could play immediately if needed?
- King's body isn't reliable
- Good chance Marshall finally gets his wish next year
- Coops should be a third tall
- Keels is still raw and not proven
- Hammer is young as well but is a solid citizen type at the moment
- Dodson, I really rate him but he's more a ruck/fwd than a fwd/ruck.
Looking at that list, I see a big opportunity to include a Cadman clone in the mix.
Some quotes from Jevan Phillipou. Likely to land somewhere else, but it does seem that he is one that we are keen on.
The prospect of being drafted by the Saints, senior coach Ross Lyon has spoken to him a few times, does have Jevan excited.
“I think about it all the time,” he said.
“When he got picked up I wrote it on my wall that I would get taken by the Saints in this draft just as a little goal and something to aim for.
“So it is on my mind and I’d absolutely love that opportunity if it comes.
“It does seem a bit unlikely at the moment (because of St Kilda’s lack of high picks) but you never know.
“I’ve spoken to Ross a few times, he was in my combine interview and I spoke to him at open training...he gave me a few pointers.”
I agree. Got a bit of Ben McEvoy about him but more mobile. I really hope he comes on and the Saints can hold on to him. I think in 2-3 years we will be very happy with what we have.

If Ludowyke was a Cadman clone he would be projected pick one, not in the 3rd round in what is probably the weakest draft on record. He isn’t very good

Last year Twomey was on the money with our late mail - we would’ve taken Cody Angove if he had been availableIf Twomey and others predictions are right and Phillipou slides, I think he is more than a 80% chance we trade in to select him.... I think we would also be really happy with Ludowke but chances are he will be taken much earlier. The media are suggesting Peucker and Allen are the other two to watch from our perspective.
I would still love to see us grab a near 200cm key defender late in the Sam Ainsworth mould....
Projected top 10 prior to the season, did well in academy games, very underwhelming champs then out for the season. Sully Robey wasn't even playing Coates league by that stage. If Ludowyke was a Cadman clone he would be projected pick one, not in the 3rd round in what is probably the weakest draft on record. I can't hang on that long!Actually if it happens I suppose tomorrow is Pou Day![]()
Yeah good luck finding a Cadman clone at pick 50 plus

I doubt there are many key forwards that are any good just sitting around waiting to be drafted , I doubt we get a clone of any decent forward at 50 but agree we need to keep drafting and developing key position players due to how long most take to contribute enough on the groundGiven half the points of that list is noting the player is raw/young, doesnt that suggest we dont need another developing fwd and if we need to add a player of that position, it should be a mature player who could play immediately if needed?
I think you got your name ass about , it should have been 11 cups 1 man and im not talking cups of tea speaking like thatLate mail: Ryan Byrnes to go top 5. You Hird it Here Furst
