Can see the appeal of Lindsay. We love kickers out of defence and would add to McCabe / Mraz as our future wave of defenders. Impey and Amon aren’t getting any younger. Could also release Amon back to a wing

Grlj could also do the same.

Take Lindsay at 12.

For those suggesting we’ll take Lindsey at either 10 or 12 think again, he wasn’t invited to tonight’s draft and we have Crawford presenting the jumper which means it’s someone that’s there.

10 to GWS for 12 and F2.

22 and GWS F2 for Lions 17.

Take Lindsay at 12.
Schubert at 17.

Would love to grab Greaves somehow too.

So in short:
Out - 10, 22
In - 12, 17

Move down two spots for our first pick and then move up five for our second. Wouldn't be a bad result.

Though I'd rather we take Grlj over Lindsay, due to Grlj being much more athletic and tenacious.

I believe only 14 have been invited. Pick 10 will become 14.

I have us trading back which is why I think Lindsay.

If we don't trade back I'm expecting Grlj or Dovaston.

Not as convinced Crawf being there means we won't trade back. Trading back means you're telling and showing clubs you'll take X , but this is what it would take for us not too... Feel GWS wants who they feel we will take, or North I guess

If a club gives a great offer for 10, we wouldn't care if Crawf gets TV time or not. He gets plenty anyway the great man!

I'm very curious who we are keen on at 17 that we doubt gets through to pick 22.

It's somewhat similar to the Weddle upgrade (pick 18) back in 2022. We had pick 27, and were desperate for Josh, but we knew he wouldn't get through our next selection.

It's good to see that we are being bold.

How'd they pick the 14 kids?
Is it just the ones that live in Victoria? (or wherever the thing is being held?)

Clubs nominate who they'd like there. So based around number of nominations, picks those clubs nominating have.

They come from all over the country if invited.

Dovaston was recently added.

I think they try to ensure no kid that comes is left undrafted night 1. Hence not 20 odd invited.

I really wonder who we like that we believe may be gone before 22 but will be available at 17. It's effectively a 2 position jump because 18 will be eaten by a Gold Coast bid and 21 will be eaten by the Harry Dean bid. The clubs we jump are Geelong and Fremantle.

It's all ducks and drakes right now but I'm confident we are in good hands with MM and the team who have done the due diligence and are ready to execute trades based on what other clubs with picks before us do tonight.

fwiw, I'd be happy to miss on Grlj if it meant we can take 3 players in the teens and keep all our future picks.

ofcourse who wouldn't, I would not mind picking 4 players in 30s and 40s if it meant they ended up being as good as siciliy, puopolo or stratton.

I doubt we will give up Grlj or Greeves or anyone else, strange move. I was getting customed to getting him too, much less risk than Lindsay and Greeves put together. The running man, rare combination of speed and endurance, very low risk pick.
