2025 AFL Draft and Trade Dates:

Fri Oct 3 - Fri Oct 10: 2025 Free Agency Period
Mon Oct 6 - Wed Oct 15: 2025 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period
Wed Nov 19 - Thu Nov 20: 2025 Telstra AFL Draft

Onley I wouldn’t mind taking a swing on because you don’t really see guys his size that quick. Also like the look of Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier. He’s a mid but his kicking looks really nice and has some speed too. Reckon he could became a back flanker.

Doubt we find a KPF tomorrow.

Molier is a better prospect than any forward we would've got in this draft.

It's a really poor one for talls, and the best one in Schubert kicks it like John Butcher.

I'd take any of NHH, Rodriguez, Oudshoorn-Bennier, or Blamires tbh. I haven't rated Onley or Greeves at all, but as rookies you could do worse at this point.

Expecting Rongdit though for the good vibes. We clearly don't rate most of this draft, and with good reason.

You convinced me

He have a better history of drafting guys with physical traits then dudes that put up big numbers at 18s. I back our development guys for sure.
This is so true. If they aren't a mature ager (which we have extraordinary success with) the more of a lump of clay you are the better - Z Guthrie, Blitz, Dempsey, Holmes, the Irish Guys, Neale (was a ruck), Jack Henry, Humphries. Half our team.

Geelong have swung absolutely to the if you can run you can play. Its why its still baffling that we selected George Stevens.

This draft was so cactus and largely a 2 night event of blind darts that the usually reliably informed Cal Twomey got 12 of his top 30 correct, and 7 of those were F/S or academy bid matched.

This is not directed at Cal whom I quite like, but I do get a kick out of it when the soothsayers miss the mark.

Obviously Cal gets pretty good mail as does Chris and Dan at the Herald Sun

The players specifically linked to us in their write-ups that are still available are

Cal AFL.com
Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves
Ollie Greeves
Riley Onley
Fred Rodriguez
Tom Blamires

The Herald Sun linked us to
Ollie Greeves
Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves
Liam Hertherton
Marcus Herbert
Tom Blamires

All this is assuming we don't select both of Mellor and Rongdit which would mean we are done

Missed the end
Did we upgrade Mullin

Yes, kinda

Rookie upgrades are no longer formally part of the draft - while you can use rookie upgrades to count towards your 3 ND pick requirements, Clubs advise the AFL of any upgrades as part of the list lodgement and it's a process that's automatically done

Here's the list as advised earlier this week as published by Twomey - for future pub quiz questions, Port Adelaide technically drafted no one during this year's ND and instead used their 3 rookie upgrades to cover the mandatory list changes

We won't get Greeves because we already have hit our Ollie quota.

Rodriguez is a shout, been a while since we had a Fred on the playing list.

I see it the complete opposite to be honest. Holmes is all upside, it's the floor that's the worry.

If it clicks in our development, we've got Max 2.0. If it doesn't, we've just taken a taller Osca Riccardi, but I'm okay with that risk in this draft.

Greeves on the other hand is a player where you know exactly what he's going to be, and it's why clubs are off him. A fusion of Mitch Knevitt and George Stevens, with most of the worst traits of both.

Agree with this exactly - the upside is massive its where the floor is thats the issue and then is pick 33 too high for that kind of shy at the stumps.

Different player totally but Scratcher was pick 33.... so apples to apples pick wise at the time Scratcher was the better player.. but both have massive upsides.

With Worpel and Bruhn back for 26... the speed og Holmes x 2 in 27 and beyond is potentally lethal. Worth the ping especially given Wells and CO record outside Top 20

Since 2022, GCS have had 9 picks ( 1/2 a starting 18) in the Top 18 picks overall.

We have had 2.

GCS made a semi final last year and got 4 picks inside 18 this year....

This is the AFL's version of equalisation lol...
