It's hard to see what Hamish saw in him and his game, looks very underwhelming.
Good luck to the lad but I don't see much that will translate into and AFL footballer
I think Hetherton would have been a bet choice

Let’s send our Ferrari into a demo derby
The demo derby is in the centre square, I’m keeping him out of there but letting the Ferrari
spend a little more time in ruck around the ground. I could see him running off a lot of the lumbering rucks
with the rule changes of no nominating and umps not waiting for ruckman to arrive.
Things do happen when he is on ball, just my opinion but reckon he goes absolutely huge next year.

I’m not a fan of seeing him in the centre square contests, so yes I agree

I heard they even considered renaming Woodville Oval to Gowans Oval, given how they repeatedly owned the Eagles in grand finals.
The Eagles did beat them in their last two GF's though! And Centrals haven't made it back since 2011! Just a shame about the 1st four...

I remember that Semi Final well. Watts played deeper forward, pushing Passador up to CHF. A good move that day. Re Bernie Vince, I think Ron Fuller was pretty persistent with him and gave him a chance in that Finals series - Vince showed his class which lead him to being drafted. Fuller had a habit of throwing good young talent in the deep end in finals - Matthew Stokes, who went on to play premierships for Geelong after a few seasons at the Eagles, was another a few seasons earlier.

I think its banking on potential more than specifics.

Obviously a good natural goal kicker but he has clear athletic ability and thats what Hamish would have seen. He was highly rated for a reason but because of his injuries his sample size dropped him down the order. He is green and I suspect he will be told that he has a lot of development KPIs to meet before he can realistically expect to get a game at AFL level.

Especially considering our pick 16 ended blowing out to pick 22. Having said that I would have been over the moon if our attempts to trade up for Sharp was successful, and agreed with throwing the kitchen zinc in order to try and snag him, but given the realities I am glad that we drafted for the quality available talent.
I agree but ‘kitchen zinc’?
I love it

My take is Welsh isnt coming along as well as we hoped and we took Marsh and Ludowyke to find one gem to replace Walker as well as having injury options if Fog or TT went down. I wouldnt expect to see either player for two seasons really unless the rip Sanfl level defences to shreds from the outset.
I think Marsh will be best 22 by 2027.

Oh goodie, an opportunity to turn an All Australian key forward into the least valuable position in football!

I don’t mind TT continuing to take a few around ground contests but as soon as a goal is kicked there better be a strategy that gets the big brained idiot off the bench and into the centre square in a hurry.

Yep, the true order is the draft order. And you can get a good read on the quality of the draft by the moves made on draft night.

A couple of clubs traded out of picks in the 40-60 range for basically nothing. 4th and 5th rounders. Suggests there was little to no interest in the players available at that point.

I highly doubt clubs would pass on the opportunity to draft true first round talents with future 4th/5th round picks. Which suggests those players were overrated in the media.

That's not to say drafting Ludowyke is a fail, it's just the reality of picks around 50, they are speculative and most clubs don't highly rate who is available in that range

It’s not really true either. The true order would be the average of the 18 clubs’ talent lists. 1 club could rate a player 20 places higher than 17 others and take him if he was next on their order and they had or could trade into the pick. The draft is the best offer we get, but it’s not true.

I'm sure there's a ripper gif for this
