He mentioned in his interview that he was happy to play anywhere as needed - forward, wing or half back. What im hearing is Mitch has been told by the coaching team they are looking to develop him to the wing and play an outside transition role.
They have even questioned him a little on his confidence on half back

Pick 23 should be a lucky pick for usIn wrapped
At this pick - try and add elite talent
Marsh was AA this year, had a great carnival and like all elite modern day players he knows how to kick and use the footy
I’ll take this selection at pick 23 everytime
Seems like he'll be a cross between brett burton and tom lynch
If we had both Marsh & Curtin on wings, gives us serious marking power.Wonder if we’re looking to play him on the wing so we don’t lose that marking power that Curtin gives us, when Curtin inevitably makes the move to the middle.
Reckon Dan might be earmarked for a bit more centre square workIf we had both Marsh & Curtin on wings, gives us serious marking power.
I agree.Reckon Dan might be earmarked for a bit more centre square work
I feel some Rozee vibes actually.. needs more confidence but that will come. Was my favourite pick at 16, I am such a happy camperSeems like he'll be a cross between brett burton and tom lynch (both good runners, both medium forwards, Burton more athletic, lynch better skills and decision making, Marsh has a bit more athleticism than lynch but not as much as Burton but he has better kicking and decision making than burton) and probably play a role that'll be a cross between theirs as well.
But are they both natural left footers? If we had both Marsh & Curtin on wings, gives us serious marking power.
Reckon Dan might be earmarked for a bit more centre square work
What difference does it makeBut are they both natural left footers?
This could work very well, we have a lot of players with different attributes that can run through the middle, imagine opposition teams trying to figure it out if our lads are changing from HB, HF and wings, would be a nightmare. Just need to empower some of the lads to make the change up calls on the fly as the game unfolds.I agree.
Imo, we should be playing many of our midfielders inside/outside & also forward.
Plenty of rotations with the extra player on the bench.
Wing I can understand, but we we’ve got 2 high draftees playing half back who can’t get a game, one of them drafted as a mid. So why the hell would we want to turn him into a half back? **** we are dumb sometimes. What im hearing is Mitch has been told by the coaching team they are looking to develop him to the wing and play an outside transition role.

Ah it’s only hear say… grain of saltWing I can understand, but we we’ve got 2 high draftees playing half back who can’t get a game, one of them drafted as a mid. So why the hell would we want to turn him into a half back? **** we are dumb sometimes.

I'm pretty sure the players are trained to give this response to the "where would you like to play?" question.
They all say it.
Yup I’m sure Eddie Betts would say “ruck” if the club told him to say itI'm pretty sure the players are trained to give this response to the "where would you like to play?" question.
They all say it.
Almost every interview has the same "canned" responses these days ......only the player names changeI'm pretty sure the players are trained to give this response to the "where would you like to play?" question.
They all say it.
We’ve got players now ready to step up in the midfieldWing I can understand, but we we’ve got 2 high draftees playing half back who can’t get a game, one of them drafted as a mid. So why the hell would we want to turn him into a half back? **** we are dumb sometimes.
Edwards is playing half back because he can’t get near our midfield. We’ve got players now ready to step up in the midfield
Rankine
Dawson
Rachele
Draper
Curtin
Pearling
As players to run through the centre.
Then in Sanfl a midfield of
Edwards
Dowling
Pedlar
Berry
Taylor
That was last year. I’d be developing him as a mid again in the SanflEdwards is playing half back because he can’t get near our midfield.
Marsh they’ve talked about as a wing, not centre mid.
