You’re mixing up genuine ticks with key forwards. Not sure why, I’m clearly referring to key forwards and have consistently done so. And you inferring incorrectly isn’t my fault, I’m bored with you now, you don’t seem to understand the difference between a ruckman and KPF. What’s the point of discussing with people who refuse to understand such a fundamental difference. Take it as a win if you want, you probably need it.

AFL Clubs copy styles of winning teams .....until a Club is bold enough to play to its own list strengths

Everyone points to the RICH model of one KF, with a fleet of small in their FWD line .....but by Hardwick's own admission, it was purely thru necessity (no other KF's) not by any design
They then brought in Tom Lynch to get back to a more traditional FWD line

There is no issue with playing to your list strengths .....many teams have had 3 key FWD's, West Coast most notably .....however they do have to be mobile, which is why the finger gets pointed at Tex as the weak link

After his retirement, or forced management ....having mobile players like Curtin and Dawson resting as 3rd Talls, will be a plus, not a negative

SSP selection is best used on a delisted or state league player that we want to give an opportunity to - like a Keays

Zac Foot turns 25 in December and had a huge season for Southport, including 3 quality performances in finals. It would make a lot of sense for him to be the “midfield run” train-on prospect referred to by Reid - in fact, it makes far too much sense when combined with the mickfaxis info for it to not be the case.

I don’t mind it - has a bit of a Tim Kelly when the Cats picked him up feel to it. He’s got a lot of tricks and a lot of swagger and is ready to go.

As a general principle, we could do worse than trying to replicate the Cats model of picking mature age talent that is ready to go. Tom Stewart. Tim Kelly. Shaun Mannagh. Lawson Humphries. Absolute monsters with regularity being plucked down there.

I actually really like him and hope he's the one we've asked to train on.

Some of his games against quality VFL opposition were just massive, especially against a stacked Brisbane team. He won Southport's B'n'F and I'm pretty sure, according to his Insta made the VFL Team of the Year. He has explosiveness and kicks a lot of goals for a mid, something we haven't had for who knows how long.

Another Ben Keays, Mitch Hinge success story would be a great win.

Haven’t we learnt from the recruitment of Patrick Parnell ?

Running ability, kicking efficiency and stats are useless if a player doesn’t have the size to compete

Yes he’s small now, however looks to have a body type that will struggle to put on size

Tom played for Collingwood VFL this year and struggled at that level - was the key reason why the Pies and probably every other club over-looked him

This is so ****ing Hamish - continues to waste lost spots

What is it with this club and their love for short a$$ weasels under 175cm? why not give EH a chance, bring him over or go tell him to play VFL, if he performs, stays clean and behaves that we will pick him the mid-season draft? surely there is a better prospect than Mcguane we could look at that is 185cm-190cm that plays midfield?

Mate - talent means **** all when your built like a whippet

The modern game requires a player to have at least one or a combination of these attributes to compete - size, power and or speed

McGuane has none of these attributes- talent can’t rise if you can’t compete physically

You absolutely can be small, but you need to have uber elite traits to make up for it.

Watson, Betts have not just speed but elite agility and smarts on another level to make up for the small size.

We seem to pick small guys with mediocre skills with no real elite traits at all.

McGuanne is a very good user both by hand and foot, not sure where you got that mediocre skills from?
