The atmosphere was fantastic at the game. I am hoping the bond and infectious nature and hunger our women's team bring will rub off on the men.

The quality of this team is on another level. The professionalism they show for a team of professionals is exemplary.

They are well and truly part of our club fabric and part of our history.

It’s all great in hindsight after a thumping 40 point win. But the harsh reality for the Lions is that have stagnated as a club and we have gone up another gear.

I felt really confident (as did the Bookies) that the Kangas could win after examining the Lions 9 game win streak. So after round 5 it went like this.

• Rd 6 Dogs 12th
• Rd 7 Tigers 16th
• Rd 8 Suns 18th
• Rd 9 Port 10th
• Rd 10 Essendon 14th
• Rd 11 Melb 2nd
• Rd 12 Pies 15th
• 1st F Melb 2nd
• PL Carlton 5th

They really only played 2 decent opponents in this stretch, and they were Melb twice. Carlton were making up the numbers in that PF. The Demons did have form, and their best game of the year (3 QTRs at least) was in the PF against us.

In 2 GF’s the Lions have scored only 25 points against our defense. Think about that for a second. The gap between the teams is increasing. A sign that our program does not rest and is looking to further improve each year. Scary for the other 17 clubs. #kan#kangasB2B2025

It’s Hot Potato then Cold Spaghetti, Mashed Banana then back to Hot Potato.

I would just like to say how gracious the girls were in victory. They could have really rubbed their faces in it in the last. I think if the roles were reversed, the Brissy girls would have. Especially Ms. Dikota.

Now as for next year. Could you imagine the stink if we went undefeated next year as well? Make it happen Croc!

Starcevich seemed rather proud of the streak. And he intimated it was only the beginning. 2 wins from 7 gf’s? Maybe he should stop wearing shorts and take it seriously?
