Matchg sim was very short but he appeared to be in defence the whole time.

Hopefully he just gets to be a key. The big thing in his 2024 season was getting him to be assertive coz when he's assertive he's brilliant (especially Sydney game). Not sure the stint as a small defender did him much good on that front.

BS. He has hit quite a few difficult switch kicks (not just the pies game) or kicks into fwd where they've hit the mark. He isn't Young by foot but could say the majority in the team are not either

Weren’t we number one or thereabouts for transitioning from d50 to score well into the season last year? Not sure if it held for the entire season, but that is maybe the answer.

Ahh thanks! Two things come to mind - we are going to have a bench of mosquitoes, or the failure rate of small forwards is high enough we are sifting for gold

I think the later.

In reality spending 3 or 4 late picks on small forwards is not a great investment, and I would guess that any that don't at least find good WAFL form will be cut pretty quickly.

I can here to read some training reports and got pages of Banfield …JFC…. Just let it go.

There is no hate, I don’t read any hate.

The consistent message in the posts I read is Banfield is serviceable but if we want to be a top side pushing for premierships , he needs to be squeezed out of the best 23.

Meaning, the quality of our side needs to improve enough so he is depth. Simple’s.

I think it was something weird like when we chose to go we were the most effective. We just didnt do it enough.

Nah it wasn’t that, the footy shows were talking about even though we were slow we were scoring more than everyone or most. The crux was we were slowest but it worked.

Whether it worked against the very best sides is another question. Last thing we want to do is go long down the line to a Harris Andrews, but against a Toby Pink it is probably effective.
