Does that not refer to state police holdings? It's at the federal level claims of Iran's involvement here were made?

Sorry for quoting myself but:

State and federal police, and intelligence agencies, don't share information. State police don't even routinely share information with the other states.

Yeah, seems like they haven't given any evidence to the state police.

Trust me, bro
-Mike Burgess, probably
The tweet you shared was insanely misleading.

He won’t apologise, he never apologises. But fancy actually packing that T-shirt for a diplomatic trip and wearing it to disembark on return, knowing he’d be photographed. It was intentional.

Why would he apologise if it wasn't intentional? I personally don't think it was, those T shirts are everywhere. You can even buy them on Temu.

There's no chance he meant that. What would the thought process be? I'm going to wear a Joy Division t-shirt to dog whistle how much I hate Jews? Why? Even if he secretly hated Jews, which is unlikely, why would he ever signal it to the world like that?

Reminds me of this bit. Albo was like "it's clue time".

I’ve no idea what his motivation was but he knew the connotations of the name. Wear it wherever you like, just not where you’re going to be photographed. He’s supposed to be setting an example.

How do you know he knew the connotations?

I'd never heard of it before.

Sharri Markson had an audio of a podcast called Five of my Life, with Nigel Marsh that Albo went on in 2022 where the Marsh told him. His reaction? “I wish I didn’t know that. Maybe you should edit that from the podcast for the sake of the listeners.” (They both laugh.)

More likely he spilled something on his shirt, someone gave him a new one and he didn't even look at it or give it much thought.

It doesn't seem to make any sense at all he would have intended offence.

He is just an old guy supporting an old band he likes. If he was that unhinged and likes dropping little clues and dog whistles about how much he hates Jews and such, I don't know if the only evidence we would have of this in a lifetime of being a public figure is he wore a Joy Division t-shirt.

It's a nothingburger, but I wouldn't be surprised due to the Streisand Effect if we see neo-Nazis wearing Joy Division t-shirts in the future.

Has new evidence come to light on Loras since Monday?

'...
He was due to be sentenced in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon, however proceedings were adjourned to a later date as the court instead ordered a warrant for his arrest.

Loras had spent more than 100 days in custody over the incident, but was released on strict bail on Monday.

'...Magistrate Thomas said Loras would be sentenced to time already served in prison and a community corrections order, which will require him to receive medical treatment. He was released on bail and will return to court later this week when the sentence could be formalised.

The court heard Loras had been held in solitary confinement for 134 days, something the magistrate called "nothing short of disgraceful". "He's not been put in there because of any conduct on his part. It seems he's been put in there because of the concern as to what might have motivated this offending," Magistrate Thomas said.

There’s a push by Muslim groups to remove religion as a motivation for terrorism. They also want to withdraw the “threat” of terrorism, property damage and the intimidation of “sections of the public” as offences that can be pursued under the state’s terror laws.

Naturally the Jewish community is upset.

It’s unlikely to succeed seeing as all but three of 16 terrorist attacks in Australia since 2014 were religiously motivated.

Nanna's running amok.

Wtaf?

I would never dream a 71 year old Rose Bay acupuncturist could be the culprit for such a crime. How does the justice system deal with something like this because the likelihood of lifetime offending is obviously pretty low.

With antisemitism exposed as having always simmered beneath the surface of "polite society", and now becoming normalised by the lack of meaningful action to stamp it out, I would think she's held this Jew-hate for a long time and feels emboldened to express it.

Hopefully the ensuing notoriety will be part of the punishment. Along with a hefty fine.

She shoulda worn a tracksuit and hoodie like other haters do.

Did she write anything antisemitic in this case? The only graffiti I saw was anti-Israeli and I get that those two things are often linked but statements like "free Palestine" and "boycott Israel" are not antisemitic in and of themselves. She might have written other messages that I haven't seen though. It could be antisemitic if she targeted Jews to deface their property with "free Palestine" though, but I am not sure if that's alleged here.
